As I have explained on many occasions, the US government is privatized. It is run by private interests whose representatives are found on the SEC, FDA, EPA, Federal Reserve, and all other regulatory agencies. As George Stigler made clear 60 years ago, the US regulatory agencies are captured by the industries they are supposed to regulate. The power of private interests also comes from the fact that private interests are the financers of political campaigns. Every elected official—House, Senate, President—and every state and local official knows he/she is in office because of the campaign contributions. This means that elected officials are responsible to their donors, not to the voters. The power of private interests was reinforced by the US Supreme Court decision that gave essentially unlimited ability to corporations to purchase government to serve their interests.

This is the real picture of today’s United States. The US is a country that can only serve private interests, never the public interest, itself a hard interest to define in a country in which Identity Politics is pervasive.

In America today, the public interest is “whose interest?” Multiculturialism can never result in a united interest. Today there are an array of interests trying to have it all while suppressing other interests. The feminists, once a powerful force, are losing to the “transgendered.” Even former feminist heros are now cancelled and deplatformed. White Americans, branded “aversive racists,” have lost out to blacks who have been granted legal preferences, thus violating the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution which was passed for the explicit purpose of establishing the equal protection of law. Formerly sanrosact heterosexuals now answer to formerly criminal homosexuals and are required to take “sensitivity training” to learn deference to homosexuals, preferred minorities, and transgendered claimants. Today the discrimination is against the white heterosexual male who is labeled a “domestic terrorist” unless he joins in the persecution of white heterosexual males and did not vote for Donald Trump. The US Democrat Party has defined its rival, the Republican Party, as the party of white supremacists, the party of “Trump deplorables.”

The society that exists is the US today is so split that it no longer constitutes a country. There is NO UNIFYING BELIEF OR PRINCIPLE. The United States has become a Tower of Babel, and the Americans are unaware of who brought this affliction upon them and the societal collapse that it is bringing.

A federal appeals court in Philadelphia ruled that TSA screeners are immune from prosecution for sexual assault, false arrest, and other abuses.

Reuters:

In a 2-1 vote, the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia said Transportation Security Administration (TSA) screeners are shielded by government sovereign immunity from liability under the Federal Tort Claims Act because they do not function as “investigative or law enforcement officers.”
The majority said it was “sympathetic” to concerns that its decision would leave fliers with “very limited legal redress” for alleged mistreatment by aggressive or overzealous screeners, which add to the ordinary stresses of air travel.

“For most people, TSA screenings are an unavoidable feature of flying,” but it is “squarely in the realm” of Congress to expand liability for abuses, Circuit Judge Cheryl Ann Krause wrote.

This means that incidents like this are legal.

She required me to assist her in my sexual assault. I had to lift my shirt to give her clear access to my waistband, into which she thrust her blue-latex-gloved fingers and ran them all around the front and back of it. She made me hold my pants in place from the top as she crouched down and firmly ran her hands from the top of my legs to the bottom, both front, back and sides. She firmly pushed and rubbed her hands between my legs, the entire area – THE ENTIRE AREA – from the front and back.
She finally directed me to hold out my hands, palms up, as she swabbed them with damp squares of white tissue, which she inserted into a machine that I assume "sniffed" for explosive residue. When it gave my hands the all-clear, she indicated that I was free to go.

It's not sexual assault when the government does it.

The court ruled on an unrelated case that included an allegation of false arrest:

According to court papers, Pellegrino had been randomly selected for additional screening at the Philadelphia airport before boarding a US Airways flight to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Pellegrino, then 57, objected to the invasiveness of the search, but conditions deteriorated and she was later jailed for about 18 hours, the papers show. Criminal charges were filed, and Pellegrino was acquitted at a March 2008 trial.

Circuit Judge Thomas Ambro dissented from Wednesday’s decision.

“By analogizing TSA searches to routine administrative inspections, my colleagues preclude victims of TSA abuses from obtaining any meaningful remedy for a variety of intentional tort claims,” he wrote.

Torts are civil wrongs that can result in damages.

A spokesman for U.S. Attorney William McSwain in Philadelphia, whose office represented TSA officials, had no immediate comment.

So now, along with arrogance, bad manners, sneering insults, and a hostile attitude, the flying public is going to have to put up with deviant TSA agents getting off on groping their junk.

The TSA is supposed to keep us safe. In test after test, it's clear that they cannot perform that basic function. Now, their incompetence has been compounded by leaving the traveling public wide open to continued abuses by agents and screeners without recourse for redress of any kind.

Isn't it time to privatize airport security and get rid of the TSA?

Bill Faloon, Co-founder of Life Extension Foundation, recently summarized some of the science showing the critical role of Vitamin D. An excerpt from his article in the January 2010 Life Extension Magazine follows:

Evidence that Vitamin D Combats Winter Infections

As daylight hours grow colder and shorter, incidences of the common cold, flu, and respiratory infections spike upwards. Scientists have identified reduced vitamin D levels in winter months as a prime suspect for this increase in infectious disease cases.

Vitamin D in all forms (sunlight, sun lamps, or supplements) reduces the incidence of respiratory infections.[24,26] Dutch children with the least sun exposure are twice as likely to develop a cough and three times more likely to develop a runny nose compared with children with the most sun exposure.[35]

When Russian athletes were given access to a sun lamp to stimulate vitamin D synthesis in the body, there were 50% fewer respiratory infections and 300% fewer days of absence.[26]

Children with the lowest vitamin D serum levels are 11 times more likely to develop respiratory infection. When 60,000 IU per week of vitamin D was administered (for six weeks) to children with frequent respiratory infections, the result was a complete disappearance of such infections in the following six months.[36]

In a controlled trial of African women, a low dose (800 IU a day) of vitamin D resulted in a 3-fold reduction in cold and flu symptoms compared to those given placebo.[37]

Influenza kills between around 36,000 Americans each year[38]. Ensuring optimal vitamin D status could slash influenza incidence and morality.

How Vitamin D Boosts Immune Function and Suppresses Inflammation

Flu viruses (including swine flu) induce a massive inflammatory response that can kill the victim. In other words, it is not the virus that often kills, but the body’s hyper-reaction to the virus—in the form of uncontrolled over-production of pro-inflammatory cytokines.

Vitamin D down-regulates the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor-alpha. [39]

As people age, they often over-express these same destructive pro-inflammatory cytokines. The result is chronic low-level inflammation that damages aging arteries, joints, and neurons[40-44]. By down-regulating excess pro-inflammatory cytokine production, vitamin D could save the lives of those stricken with acute influenza, or the dozens of inflammatory diseases that afflict millions of aging Americans each year.
