Well. This seems perfectly ghoulish. The abortion industry’s chief trade association is unveiling a program to award prepaid gas cards to women seeking to terminate their children.

The Very Rev. Katherine Ragsdale, an Episcopal priest who serves as the National Abortion Federation’s interim president and CEO, hailed the rewards program Wednesday in a statement provided to the media.

“In addition to helping patients cover the cost of their procedure, we also provide case management support and help covering travel-related expenses,” she said. “We have already seen an increase in distances patients have had to travel to obtain the abortion care they need and expect this trend only to get worse.”

Ragsdale’s statement adds, “Travel-related assistance is a service that shouldn’t have to be provided. People should have easy access to the health care they need – including abortion care – without the help of hotlines and donated funds. Unfortunately, due to the anti-abortion bans and medically-unnecessary anti-abortion restrictions, politicians have made it impossible for many to obtain the care they need. We’re here to do something about it.”

We are just a few years away from the NAF also offering abortive procedures delivered right to patients' doorstep, aren't we? Uber Eats, but for terminating your pregnancy.

If things work out, the NAF hopes to expand this pilot project nationwide.

We’ve documented that the intelligence services intentionally create digital vulnerabilities, then intentionally leave them open … leaving us exposed and insecure.

Washington’s Blog asked the highest level NSA whistleblower ever* – Bill Binney – what he thinks of the attacks.

Binney told us:

This is what I called short sighted finite thinking on the part of the Intelligence Community managers.

This is also what I called (for some years now) a swindle of the tax payers. First, they find or create weaknesses then they don’t fix these weaknesses so we are all vulnerable to attack.

Then, when attacks occur, they say they need more money for cyber security — a total swindle!!! [Indeed.]

This is only the second swindle of the public. The first was terror efforts by saying we need to collect everything to stop terror — another lie. They said that because to collect everything takes lots and lots of money.

Then, when the terror attack occurs, they say they need more money, people and data to stop terror. Another swindle from the start. [The war on terror is a “self-licking ice cream cone”, because it creates many more terrorists than it stops.]

And, finally, the latest swindle “THE RUSSIANS DID IT.” This is an effort to start a new cold war which means another bigger swindle of US tax payers.

For cyber security, I would suggest the president order NSA, CIA and any others to fix the cyber problems they know about; then, maybe we will start to have some cyber security.

The bottom line is that our intelligence services should start concentrating on actually defending us, rather than focusing their resources on offensive mischief.

* Binney is the NSA executive who created the agency’s mass surveillance program for digital information, who served as the senior technical director within the agency, who managed six thousand NSA employees, the 36-year NSA veteran widely regarded as a “legend” within the agency and the NSA’s best-ever analyst and code-breaker, who mapped out the Soviet command-and-control structure before anyone else knew how, and so predicted Soviet invasions before they happened (“in the 1970s, he decrypted the Soviet Union’s command system, which provided the US and its allies with real-time surveillance of all Soviet troop movements and Russian atomic weapons”).

Binney is the real McCoy. As we noted in 2013, Binney has been interviewed by virtually all of the mainstream media, including CBS, ABC, CNN, New York Times, USA Today, Fox News, PBS and many others.

While the trend of police forces becoming increasingly militarized across the United States, thanks in large part to programs like the Pentagon’s 1033 Program, is pretty much common knowledge at this point, it actually goes much further than most realize.
While the trend of police forces becoming increasingly militarized across the United States, thanks in large part to programs like the Pentagon’s 1033 Program, is pretty much common knowledge at this point, it actually goes much further than most realize.

Indeed, as a new detailed Associated Press report shows, it is not only Georgia – which acquired a whopping $200 million worth of military-grade weapons and vehicles – where rural areas are getting equipment they clearly don’t need.

Yet the many cities and towns also acquire equipment through federal grant funds, not just the 1033 Program, which can allow agencies to acquire everything from deep fryers to military robots.

The AP investigation found that a “disproportionate share of the $4.2 billion worth of property distributed since 1990 has been obtained by police departments and sheriff’s offices in rural areas with few officers and little crime.”

Some of the equipment is quite obviously not needed and will not be used by the departments. One of the examples is, oddly enough, from Georgia, where the police department in the tiny farming community of Morven, Georgia has acquired “three boats, scuba gear, rescue rafts and a couple of dozen life preservers.”

Now, you might be thinking that this is justified, because they’re probably located near a large body of water. In reality, the 1.7-square-mile, 700-resident town’s deepest body of water is an ankle-deep creek.

Morven Police Chief Lynwood Yates didn’t stop there. He also acquired a decontamination machine originally valued at $200,000, though it is missing most of its parts and would require $100,000 worth of repairs.

Yates also acquired an unknown number of bayonets which have yet to make it out of his storage facility.

“That was one of those things in the old days you got it because you thought it was cool,” Yates said, referring to his shipment of bayonets. “Then, after you get it, you’re like, ‘What the hell am I going to do with this?’”

I’m sure many readers are asking the same question.

Morven has clearly enjoyed the benefits of the Department of Defense program, acquiring some $4 million worth of goods over the past ten years or so. Yet Yates acknowledged that his town sees little crime and that the police spend most of their time on traffic enforcement.

In the small town of Rising Star, Texas, population 835, the police chief acquired over $3.2 million worth of goods with a mere 14 months. The only full-time officer on the entire force was the police chief.

Some of the equipment the police chief got this hands on before being fired over an unrelated issue earlier this year included three deep-fat fryers, two meat slicers, a pool table, playground equipment, nine televisions, 11 computers, 25 sleeping bags and 22 large space heaters worth $55,000 when new.

The city of Seattle, Washington has taken the forefront in a fight spreading across the United States against the use of invasive police drones to conduct sweeping surveillance in locales from coast to coast.

Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn announced on Thursday that the city’s police department is abandoning plans to put unmanned aerial vehicles — UAVs, or drones — into the sky. But as the use of these aircraft and their high-tech capabilities take center stage in the media, other city executives across the US are making similar decisions.

Last spring, the Seattle Police Department confirmed the acquisition of a 3.5 pound Draganflyer X6 Helicopter Tech drone, an aircraft that at the cost of $41,000 could have allowed authorities in the Pacific Northwest city to spy from above on a town of over 600,000. When the agency introduced the aircraft last year, it was touted as being both an entertaining and useful tool for law enforcement to use during search-and-rescue missions.

“It’s very fun,” Officer Reuben Omelanchuk told the Seattle Times in April, “But doing it safely can be stressful at times.”

As a public backlash amounted in the months since, though, with civil liberty advocates taking charge in a fight to forego the use of drones, Mayor McGinn announced this week that the initiative will be aborted in lieu of other activities.

“Today I spoke with Seattle Police Chief John Diaz, and we agreed that it was time to end the unmanned aerial vehicle program, so that SPD can focus its resources on public safety and the community building work that is the department’s priority,” the mayor said to the media on Wednesday.

Sabre rattling about Iran’s nuclear program was once again everywhere in the corporate media last week. Despite sounding strangely familiar it was Obama’s administration this time, perceived by many as an ‘anti-war’ candidate before the general election last year.

So much for that.

Many have analyzed the Iran nuclear scenario and can find no motive other than defense for their nuclear weapons program, fictional or actual. When one tries to imagine how Iran would benefit from nuking another nation, even Israel, there simply isn’t anything that emerges. Sure, there is the usual trotting out of that VERY loosely translated ‘wipe Israel off the map’ speech and claims that the Mullahs are so psycho that they would nuke at the first opportunity, but both of these arguments lack logic and historical precedent.

As has been stated by many a rational observer, one only has to examine DC’s policies towards the otherwise Iran-esque Islamic nuclear power, Pakistan (our…friend…) to see that the Iranians stand to enjoy quite a victory if they can develop a nuke, without ever even arming it.

So why does the Federal government continue to ignore the sovereignty of other states like Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan? One only has to look at domestic policy for a consistent track record. Federal disregard for sovereign states shouldn’t surprise, considering the Federal policies that have trampled upon the sovereignty of the United States for decades.

For those that oppose adventurism and empire building, the 10th amendment movement is a natural fit. If one opposes the invasion of Iraq, they should find equivalent intellectual motivation to oppose, say, the recent attack on Oklahoma’s sovereignty. The strongman routine suddenly looks a little different in this context- when DC’s bullying is shown to be not only directed at nations around the world, but also at our United States.
