Claudia Roth (born 15 May 1955) is a German Green Party politician. She was one of the two party chairs from 2004 to 2013 and currently serves as one of the vice presidents of the Bundestag.
Roth calls for more "solidarity" for refugees, advocating for Germany to do more than it already has.
Has called for "women quotas" in leading roles in business, politics and society.
Described the attacks on women in Cologne of Silvester 2015 as "typical male violence", which according to her, has nothing to do with the influx of foreigners in Germany.
Roth was the manager of the band "Ton Steine Scherben" from 1982 to 1985. Ton Steine Scherben is a famous German band which is popular with Anarchists and Squatter movements for its socially critical texts.
Says that because Germany is at fault for the Holocaust they are responsible for the safety of Israel and it's their duty to send troops to defend the country.
