CBS News and NBC News retracted reports about the identification of the Washington Navy Yard shooter on Monday, just minutes after each network reported that the suspect in question was a Navy chief petty officer named Rollie Chance.

CBS's John Miller reported that Chance was a suspect before 1 p.m. on Monday. NBC News later reported the same information and continued to do so past 1 p.m., even after Miller reported that the initial reports about Chance were wrong.
Finally, at 1:05 p.m., NBC political director Chuck Todd tweeted: "NBC News: we are now NOT reporting name of shooter; retracting that report. deleting those tweets."
They are not denying that the shooter is a Navy chief petty officer Rollie Chance.
Rollie Chance doesn't sound like a Muslim. It sounds British to me.
Putin just earned a boatload of goodwill around the world. Do you really think he's stupid enough to trash it? Israel & Saudi Arabia want war in the Middle East and they have the money to start one.
NBC News identifies the suspect in the Washington D. C. Navy Yard shooting as Aaron Alexis, 34, originally of Ft. Worth, Texas. He is a civilian contractor. He reportedly used the ID of a former employee to gain access into the facility. Twelve people are dead and several others wounded. The death toll is expected to rise. The potential shooter was described by witnesses as carrying a long gun, which some have said could have been an assault rifle.
Media is pushing the lone gunman scenario, again. Every time they do, I smell a rat. Did Aaron Alexis have a Facebook page? If not, I'm sure one is being manufactured as we speak.
