Store owner in wheelchair shoots one robber, holds the other at gunpoint until the police arrive
ALCOA (WATE) - The owner of an Alcoa jewelry story shot one man and held another at bay until police arrived following an alleged robbery of his store. Officers say Steven Grant Cash, 21, and Jordan Michael Echols, 24, tried to rob Malone's Jewelers, 332 Gill Street, around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. They say Cash went to the restroom while Echols went to the counter to discuss some merchandise. A few minutes later, Cash came out of the restroom wearing a jacket hood over his head and a mask. Cash jumped over the counter and went into the back office, retrieving the store's money in a cash bag. Store owner Danny Malone, who is in a wheelchair, ordered Cash to stop as he fled the store. When Cash did not stop, Malone shot him in the stomach. He then held Echols at gunpoint until police arrived at the scene. Read More Here
