I realize this is long and occasionally rambling, but it is just a jumble of thoughts I have considered all of my life and wanted to put to paper. If you want to spare the time and have nothing better to do, please feel free to read, and if you choose, comment.
Please don’t just read the first few paragraphs and think you need to comment. If you intend to comment, question or debate, at least read the whole thing.
Any Christians who might read and wish to debate any of this, I love to debate religion and the Bible as long as you don’t get angry and contentious. I see no sense in fighting over something that I consider a fairy tale.
I will post a continuation and a proposed test I came up with to test faith and attempt to prove that there is or is not a God to the best of our mortal abilities. Enquiring minds want to know.
What the Bible says about itself
Yahweh/Jehovah God is:
Cannot be defeated
Nothing can be hidden from it
Nothing can be unknown by it
Unable to Falter
Yahweh/Jehovah God has a plan:
A. Man cannot know this plan until his death at which time it will be revealed.
B. God doesn’t tell you directly that he has a plan
C. He leaves that to slick-tongue snake-oil-salesmen called preachers or priests, claiming that God speaks only to them so they know his will and they will enlighten you.
D. His plan is in a book called the Bible which was divinely inspired by God and told to a man who almost became a Pharaoh of Egypt until he found out that he was really a Jew and gave up all of his claims after murdering an Egyptian which you can read about in a book called ‘The Second Book of Moses Called EXODUS’. This man also had a speech impediment and had to have his brother Aaron translate for him. God was really on his toes with that one.
E. How this man, with an unexplained speech impediment (Stuttering?, severe lisping?, stage fright?), became so beloved of Pharaoh that Pharaoh held him above his own son is a question one would rightfully ask. Face it, when Moses faced Pharaoh to tell him to, “Let my people go.” Aaron had to speak for him. One would question who spoke for him all of those years he was garnering Pharaoh’s affections.
So many questions:
A. Why would an Omniscient God develop a “Plan”? He already knows the outcome of any course of action. He cannot be surprised!
B. How could an “All Perfect” God create an imperfect creature and require a plan that he already knows the answer for, as, by definition, perfection cannot beget imperfection.
C. Why must man live in constant fear and desperation hoping that the plan he is to believe in by “faith alone" will be as promised only when he dies?
D. Man was given “Free Will” to accept that this supernatural claim is God’s truth simply on faith with the only other alternative to that “Free Will” being to burn in Hell for all eternity without surcease, or even a drink of water.
So many more Questions
A. If God is Omni-Benevolent, why is there a child somewhere in this world, right this minute, being tortured, raped and murdered by some insane Psychopath of there are so many? That child believes that Jesus/God will save it because its parents taught it that. The child’s parents are fervently praying to Yahweh/Jehovah/Allah… whatever…to no avail. Why?
B. If God is Omni-Benevolent as it is written in the Gospels of the Apostles, Why, when the child and its parents beseeched God for mercy and life for this innocent child, did God choose to just sit back and enjoy the show? To just watch this innocent child (Omni-Present) be raped, tortured and murdered without crushing the perpetrator and wiping this poor child’s memory as he restored her whole and untouched (Omni-Potent) back to her family?
In the Gospels it is written, he who calls on God with even the faith of the mustard seed (falsely claimed to be the smallest of seeds; the tobacco seed is actually smaller), then it WILL be done! It does not say “might be” or “oughtta be” or “could be” or “will be if you hold your face just right”, but ”WILL BE”! Do you not think that at least the child, who knew only what she was taught, would have, at the very least, that much faith?! I can conjure up that much faith and I am an apathetic Agnostic Atheist (don’t know; don’t believe; don’t really care)!
C. What kind of all powerful/knowing/benevolent/perfect God would create a man-child with no knowledge of good or evil –as that was to be kept from them to prevent them from becoming as the Gods themselves- and place him and his even more childish woman-child in a magnificent garden in which the only fruit they are admonished not to eat is the fruit of ‘The Tree of Knowledge” or they would “surely die”?
D. How could an Omniscient God not know that the man-children were…children…unable to discern the difference between right or wrong, good or evil and therefore could and would be tempted and would succumb to temptation? They are children for God’s sake! Left alone in a paradise without the benefit of parental direction! They have no ability to discern a lie or a truth whether God says it or a snake says it.
They are, as any normal child would be, ‘chompin’ at the bit’ to bite into that exceedingly delicious looking forbidden fruit. Best way to get a kid to do something is tell them not to and then place them with a “cunning” talking snake. God didn’t know much about kids, or it was a setup;
This is how the scene may have played out:
The snake winks at the woman-child and hisses, “You will not surely die. God’s just playing with you. You’ll be just like him and he knows it. God really wants you to eat it. Just look how luscious this apple is, and it tastes even better.”
Eve may have misunderstood some of what the snake was hissing because snakes don’t have lips, but she got the main point –eat the apple.
So Eve says, “Oh, goody, goody!,” as she jumped up and down with glee, as any kid anticipating a happy surprise would, with breasts and butt just jiggling with the motion. “I’ll have a bite and then share it with Adam.” Or words to that effect.
So this child ate first of the apple. As she swallowed, her childlike demeanor was instantly transformed and she found herself looking lustfully for Adam to share the wonderful fruit with. She found herself blushing as she searched for Adam, because she now knew carnal thoughts she had never known before and a New World Order was about to begin.
Finding Adam, it was with great effort that she kept her eyes on his face rather than other appendages she now wanted to gain familiarity with, but she pulled it off and Adam also ate the apple. Then they consummated their marriage and found some fig leaves to cover up with.
Genesis 2:25 25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
Genesis 3:1-5 1 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”
2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden;
3 “But the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not touch it, lest you die.’ “
4 Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die.
5 “For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
--Be aware that all of this took place in the open, where God could surely see, but God did nothing to intervene. God is ALL present, ALL knowing, ALL powerful, yet he did nothing to stop the serpent from deceiving the woman-child or to prevent the woman-child from seducing the man-child to partake with her. That’s even stranger than a talking snake. Almost makes you wonder if God wasn’t setting this up for his amusement. Can God even be amused? No parental guidance!--
Genesis 3:8-13 8 And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day (maybe the deception occurred in the heat of the day and God’s spidey senses are dulled in the heat), and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.
9 Then the LORD God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?”
10 So he said, “I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.”
11 And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?”
12 Then the man said, “The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree and I ate.” (he didn’t’ just throw the woman under the bus without hesitation, but he actually kind of laid the blame at God’s feet…face it, God gave her to the man)
13 And the LORD God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” The woman said the serpent deceived me and I ate.”
To me, this is kind of bat-shit crazy-ass stuff. Talking snakes, ignorant Gods. Really?!
E. How could an Omni-present God not know where Adam and Eve were hiding in the garden after they had succumbed to temptation and realized they were naked? How could this Omniscient being not know why they suddenly realized they were naked? How could he not know that they had eaten from the tree?
F. If God is Omnipotent (Omnipotent and Omniscient are both stand-alone words so we can eliminate the hyphenation, here), why doesn’t he/it/she/whatthefuckever just will man to be without sin and erase this drama? True, life would suddenly become the most boring thing imaginable and everyone would commit suicide or just lie down and give up like a scene from ‘Serenity’. You see, Utopias are arid, emotionless concepts. Without evil there is no good, vice-versa, ad nauseum.
G. In the Bible, there are two Genesis stories as well as two Noah’s Ark stories. If God is Omniscient, why send Noah out to warn fallen, sinful man that they should change their evil ways or he would destroy all life on Earth except for two of every clean animal (Don’t know why the fuck he bothered to make unclean animals, nor how he did it as he is perfect and “Perfection cannot beget imperfection” but he didn’t want them there for the second go-round), or seven of clean animals, of which it was decreed that they should enter the Ark two-by-two. –depending on which of the two accounts you subscribe to- He failed to take into account the fact that seven is an odd number (so they would have to enter two-by-two-by-one; fucking awkward, that).
H. Dinosaurs present a problem. According to the *Noah’s Ark Museum*, dinosaurs and men frolicked together no more than 6,000 years ago, “What if dinosaurs didn’t live more than 65 million years ago and dragons weren’t just fiery fictional creatures found only in fairy tales? Get ready to challenge your preconceptions, and learn what the Bible has to teach us about the existence of dinosaurs and dragons.” That is directly from the Ark encounter website, https://creationmuseum.org/dinosaurs-dragons/. This is at odds with the original creationist doctrine that God placed Dinosaur bones for man to find to test man’s faith. There were no dinosaurs and the Earth is not Billions of years old. According to the Christians, the Earth is only 6,000 years old, give or take a couple of centuries here or there.
*Ark Encounter is a Christian religious and creationist theme park that opened in Grant County, Kentucky in 2016. The centerpiece of the park is a large representation of Noah's Ark based on the Genesis flood narrative contained in the Bible. It is 510 feet (155 m) long, 85 feet (26 m) wide, and 51 feet (16 m) high.*
I. I still want to know what happened with the unicorns.
J. What’s even worse is that he decreed Noah to be worthier than any other human in creation (or maybe he just meant the worthiest Jew in creation which would fit) as Noah was a drunkard and a buffoon who would eventually curse his own innocent son for trying to cover his drunken, naked ass and having to look upon Noah’s pitiful little dick by accident when Noah was the one who got snockered and passed out in a stupor exposing his junk for the world to see. Omniscient God saw this coming and did nothing to remedy the situation.
Matt13:31,32 “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field, which indeed is the least of all the seeds; but when it is grown it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come to nest in its branches.”
Matt 17:20,21 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have the faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
“However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”
Mark 11:24 “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”
Luke 17:6 So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.”
John 14:13, 14 “And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
“If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”
Someone is dying of cancer in some hospital (probably almost every hospital in the world). The families of these people –adults and children- are praying fervently for God to intervene and save their loved one. In many cases they even bring in their preacher or use the hospital chaplain to pray for them. Many of the religious will even have the entire church praying for them. Surely, the preacher and all of those “God-fearing” church people have, at least, the faith of a mustard seed!
What happened to it “WILL be done”?
Some of those being treated will respond positively (for a short time) to the therapy and a few will be cured of their cancer –a very small number to be sure-, but the majority, most with the same cancers doing the same treatments, some being prayed over and some not, will die and not be saved even though the faith of a mustard seed can certainly be found among the praying throngs.
Did God just like some better than others? That seems a trite reason to allow an unfathomably painful death for a faithful follower. Maybe it could be understood for an adult as maybe he/she had pissed God off and were considered by God to be a sinner (however, there is still the analogy to the mustard seed and, “WILL be” to consider).
A. But, what of the child? All you have to do to see the horrible suffering and meaningless death of little children is visit a Kosairs Children’s Hospital, or St. Jude’s. In the case of the child they always say stupid shit like, “God took his little angel home”. How ignorant is that! Why would God give the family the “little angel” only to allow it to suffer the excruciating pain of cancer and die miserably?
Wait. God has a plan. Remember? He won’t tell you that plan, but he has one. But, again, the faith of a mustard seed analogy and “WILL be” rears its ugly head.
How cruel is this great “I Am”?!
Let’s follow Alice further down this wonderland hole:
In the Bible, Jesus touched the withered arm and hand of a man and it was straightened and instantly made whole, again. Begs the next question;
A. Why hasn’t God ever, ever, ever healed an amputee? Or, a severe neurological crippling other than the very few cases recorded in the Bible?
B. Why have none of these myriad cases of miraculous healings and feeding of 5,000 people with only a few fish and a few loaves of bread plus all of the other miracles alluded to in the Bible ever been recorded in the writings of other scribes and historians of the time, other than the Bible? There were many historical scribes in the day.
C. How can the pain and suffering and death –the sacrifice- of the Christ be mourned by Christians, or anyone else, as this ‘Son of God’ was a being to whom pain can mean nothing? He cannot experience death even though the catch phrase “died for our sins” continues on. How can anyone mourn a “sacrifice” when no sacrifice occurred? Remember the God trilogy, Father, Son, Holy Spook…OMNI potent/present/benevolent/perfect? It is impossible for him to experience the imperfection of pain or suffering, and as he is also OMNI-eternal, he cannot die!
So much for the importance of the crucifixion.
The Jews referred to as the CHOSEN of God hijacked the Bible books and wrote themselves in as “Chosen”. Today’s Jew is only Jewish by conversion.
These creatures are Ashkenazi nomads from the Turkish and Russian territories the other side of the Rubicon River. These nasty creatures are not Semite so one cannot be considered anti-Semitic when speaking in condemnation of them. They are a disgusting race, on the whole, who have been expelled, usually forcibly, from every country they tried to invade and take over.
This unwholesome race converted to Judaism approximately 850-900 years ago and has co-opted the entire Palestinian Semitic race and the Judaic religion rewriting history and religion. The original Hebrews became the Palestinians. They were the true Jews/Semites by religion and tribe. They were also nomadic desert dwellers with very little to recommend them.
How would an Omni-Perfect God choose Jews, disgusting desert nomads, real Hebrews or the Ashkenatz, either one, as his “CHOSEN”? The Chosen of God.
If you actually read the Bible –poorly written book which belongs on the fiction shelf in any library-, it soon becomes apparent what a useless, brain-dead people these are.
