Gardening
Did you know that almost all seeds bough in every store in the USA and most of the world is owned by one corporation and they have been genetically modified to not produce any seeds?

This is so you have to buy more seeds the next year (So they say)
Not only are hybrid GM seeds sterile and lack nutrition, but the real reason is so you cannot feed you family or yourself in a time of crisis.

Self reliance calls for you to buy your seeds from a company that produces heritage seeds that have not been touched to alter them and will grow and produce seed's after the plant has matured.

IMPORTANT:
These are all-natural seeds, original strains of garden food non-hybrid, not genetically modified.
Most of these seeds date back 150 years. Heirloom offspring seeds can be saved and grown later. Important when people are starving!

Hi group great to have this to share with others. Now I know what to do with last nights chilli! Its so hot we can't eat it. I was going to take off all the juice and put in new tomatoe juice to start over. So now I can keep the juice and strain it and save for my future garden. LOL No waste Lottie Lequieu

I feed the birds here in winter and i do love having them around year round but i have to put out wind chimes to keep them from eating my strawberries in summer :)

Hey y'all. Good group! Thanks for the invite :)
Here's my tip for growing things in rocky and sloped areas...any vining plant, especially pumpkins, cucumbers..usually do really well.

The best thing I've found to repel deer from my garden (other than a .22 or a shotgun) is Irish Spring soap.
Take an old pantyhose leg, drop in a bar of Irish Spring soap, tie it to stakes or a tree near your garden. It helps to repel deer and insects.
Have a great day!!!

I have a large front yard area that my landlord refuses to really do anything about, so he gave me free reign. It is on a slope(i live in the hills), very rocky. I have never gardened on a slope, so any and all tips on to how to successfully garden on a sloped, rocky terrain is appreciated. I don't know how to really terrace anything, and we have critters up here too(skunks, raccoons, rabbits, various birds). Any advice? help! ; )

this might sound funny but to keep those deer, raccoons, and birds out of my garden, i put out windchimes. they sound so pretty and yet their movement keeps the critters out!!

Here in Wisconsin we have to start our gardens inside, so I start the seeds in small trays on a rack with plant lights. When they get three leaves I transplant them in larger pots and use lights til I can set them outside, usually sometime in mid-April in a small plastic-encased green-house til they can be put in the garden, I try to get em in about two weeks before Memorial weekend. Try not to over-water the little plants (funny, but once I kind of forgot about them and they had nice green tops!! LOL)It helps to plan ahead just where you want each kind of plant, make a garden graph, saves time the day you take plants out to the garden plot! Good luck all!!

I tried a cherry tomato in one of the commercial upside-down planters last summer. Organic potting soil and constant watering - in Texas on a balcony over a parking lot it is just too hot! Only got a couple cups of tomatoes before it died.
