Remember this? www.upi.com/Odd_News/Blog/2013/06/20/X-ray-weapon-FBI-uncovered-was...
Well, yesterday I see this: http://www.nti.org/gsn/article/man-pleads-guilty-plot-build-mobile-...
So I write NTI:

And I get back: Thanks so much for your e-mail.
GSN's news-aggregation pieces are brief pieces that capture the most salient points of the news, and are not meant to be exhaustive. Whenever available, we also include hyperlinks to the original news stories on which they are based, where readers can find fuller details about the matter.
I'm not sure which aspect of the story you feel our author "chose to leave out." But we base our GSN aggregation articles on only the very latest reporting -- in this case from a 1/23/14 Associated Press piece and a 1/22/14 local newspaper report, both linked in the article.
The UPI item you sent is from last June and would not have come up in our reporter's search of new articles on the topic to summarize.
Many thanks for reading GSN and taking an interest in these topics.
All best,

FBI Aids Terrorist Death Ray Plot

The facts that these perps are militant Zionists looking to kill "enemies of Israel" and were seeking funds from synagogs, and that the FBI was tipped off by a synagog official to the plot, belong in any serious piece covering the case. GSN is ostensibly the most qualified, even-handed and pragmatic NGO group dealing in nuke security and proliferation issues. For their news arm to refer to the KKK but not militant Zionists and then a top editor defend it- fucking pisses me off. If this reflects the level of commitment GSN has to meaningful nuke security, they might as well pack up and go home.
