Saudi Arabia is planning to build the world’s largest desalination plant in Rabigh, northwest of Jeddah, according to The Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) which is developing the project.

Arab News reports that the multibillion riyal project will have a daily capacity of 600,000m³ per day and will employ the reverse osmosis system of desalination.

Muhammad Al-Thubaity, director general of SWCC in the Western Region, said: “Work on the project will start in the first quarter of 2014 and will be completed in 2018.”

Al-Thubaity added that the cost of the project has been covered in this year’s budget and that the new plant will supply water to cities and villages around Rabigh such as north Jeddah, Makkah and Taif. He also emphasised SWCC’s determination to supply adequate amount of water to all parts of the Kingdom.

What Water Shortage?  The Saudi Arabian desalination plant is only going to cost multibillions.

Our Congress just agreed to spend ONE Trillion Dollars on our 2014 Fiscal Year Budget - and that's only for ONE YEAR.

We can certainly afford to build a big Desalination plant on California's coast to solve our so-called "Water Shortage".

Not to mention that the NSA SPYING PROGRAM is costing $533 BILLION for just this ONE year 2014.

But we can't afford to build DESALINATION WATER PLANTS to grow crops to feed our citizens who are forced to pay these taxes?   40 of them have already "resigned" this year 2014 before the Nov. 2014 Elections.  Kick them all out this Nov. 2014

Military Naval Ships have a "Desalination Machine" on board every ship.  Some of them hold 500 crewmmen and others hold 5,000 crewmen or more.  But they all have "Desalination machines to make fresh water for drinking and bathing".  Yet we are told there is a water shortage and there will be water rationing and water taxes.  Meanwhile we could have Water Desalination Plants that make fresh water from ocean salt water - of which there is an abundance.  Our Congress and Senate serve only themselves.  Evidently they do not serve the citizens of America, who are the taxpayers supplying Congress and Senate with the money they are wasting.
