Finnish police investigating the gang rape of a woman in the southern city of Hyvinkää, 50 kilometres north of Helsinki, have requested the public’s help for any information leading to the identification and capture of the men in the surveillance camera’s image.
According to police, the gang rape took place in the early morning of 27 July in a park near the Hyvinkää police station and municipal building, at street address Riihimäenkatu 20 and have requested anyone with information to contact the Eastern Uusimaa Police Department.
The victim has described the assailants as foreign speaking men and the video surveillance shows the group of three men walking at 2:26 am from the Jussitori square towards the street of Hämeenkatu and again walking from Siltakatu towards Riihimäenkatuat 2:32 am.
The police have asked the public to help identify the men in the image they’ve released. Anyone with any information which could assist them in the case is asked to call the Eastern Uusimaa Police Department at phone number 0295 436476 or send an email to vihjeet.ita-uusimaa@poliisi.fi.
