Charlie Castle, who has been battling to get his day in court since he was grabbed off the street by two workers from the San Bernardino mental health court over a year ago, may finally get to see a judge today.
Charlie’s plight has raised disturbing questions as to the reasons for the zealousness with which…
For years, people who have sounded the alarm about plans for FEMA camps, Martial Law, and indefinite detention of Americans considered enemies of the State, have been dismissed as "conspiracy theorists" and "tin foil hat wearers".
Establishment media and neo-cons still pretend NDAA doesn’t apply to American citizens
Paul Joseph Watson Infowars.com Wednesday, December 14, 2011
UPDATE: Obama has dropped his threat to veto the bill and is now expected to sign it into law. Remember – it was Obama’s White House that demanded the law apply to U.S.…
A sinister bill has quietly been introduced, so expansive in scope and dangerous in nature that it makes the PATRIOT Act look like the Bill of Rights.
This bill, the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2012, or S. 1253, has received tragically sparse coverage and I must admit that I was not aware of it until a…
NDAA detention provision would turn America into a “battlefield”
Paul Joseph Watson Infowars.com Saturday, November 26, 2011
The Senate is set to vote on a bill next week that would define the whole of the United States as a “battlefield” and allow the U.S. Military to arrest American citizens in their own back yard without charge or trial.
The Senate is going to vote on whether Congress will give this president—and every future president — the power to order the military to pick up and imprison without charge or trial civilians anywhere in the world. Even Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) raised his concerns about the NDAA detention provisions during last night’s…
While Eric Margolis' entire comment in the Toronto Sun is a must-read, the following two quotes really hit the nail on the head:
More empires have fallen because of reckless finances than invasion... If Obama really were serious about restoring America’s economic health, he would demand military spending be slashed, quickly end the Iraq and Afghan wars and break up…
When Romanian President Traian Basescu disclosed on February 4 that his nation’s Supreme Defense Council had “approved a U.S. proposal that Romania takes part in the anti-rocket shield system” and that “Terrestrial interceptors will be located inside the national territory,” [1] many readers may have been taken by surprise.
They need not have been, though, as the expansion of the U.S. global, layered, integrated interceptor missile system into the Black Sea was… Continue

In the October 2009 print edition of the UK Column, we reported in our article “BBC Hides Truth of Girl’s Sexual Abuse Ordeal” the shocking ordeal of Downs Syndrome girl, Hollie Greig, who was horribly abused by an Aberdeen paedophile ring, over a period of ten years. After investigating and planning a documentary, the BBC abruptly dropped the case, despite admitting that Hollie was a reliable and accurate witness. It is important to stress that both the police and… Continue

The Pentagon's top detainee affairs policy appointee has quit the Defense Department just seven months into the job, a Pentagon spokesman said Tuesday.
Phillip Carter, a former Army captain and Iraq War veteran, had been an outspoken critic of Bush-era war on terror detention policy as an attorney and blogging commentator.
He got the job of U.S. deputy assistant secretary of defense for detainee affairs in April, months after President Barack… Continue

A new report from Adalah shows how the courts and police attempted to stamp out opposition to Operation Cast Lead "This is a time of war, and every incident harms the people's morale."
This was not a sentence in a right-wing journal, but rather a statement by an Israel Police representative during Operation Cast Lead seeking to persuade the Tel Aviv District Court to block anti-war protesters from the city.
An Afghan man detained for six-and-a-half years in Guantanamo Bay, the US military detention centre in Cuba, is to sue the US government, his lawyer has said.
Major Eric Montalvo, the US military lawyer representing Mohammed Jawad, said the former detainee's family will be suing for compensation in US courts.
Jawad was released after his confession to throwing a hand grenade that wounded two US soldiers was rejected as having been coerced out of… Continue

Hearings are under way in the United States Senate to assess what to do with the 240 detainees still behind bars at Guantanamo Bay, and what will become of the military tribunals and detention without trial that the Bush administration and a compliant Congress put into place. The US Congress is also debating what will happen to the detention camp itself, which was established in 2002 to house men who were allegedly “the worst of the worst,” in a setting deliberately… Continue

Cant wait until they justify these laws for when keeping us in prison. If this happens, it sets the precedent for local government. They have already been using the Patriot Act, which was supposed not to be for US citizens, on us. Thought crimes. They cant prove which one of these men will go back to fighting, so I bet they will just keep them all. Which way does America's moral compass point? I'm glad I didn't vote for him. Of course if the votes are rigged, it didn't matter if I had. Remember… Continue
