Puff, puff, pass "New bill to legalize marijuana fittingly titled 'H.R. 420'"

Lol, well it seems some people in this government still have a sense of humor.-RP

New bill to legalize marijuana fittingly titled 'H.R. 420'

A bill introduced in Congress this week that seeks to regulate marijuana like alcohol has been numbered "H.R. 420," a name the bill's sponsor has called a "tongue-in-cheek" reference to cannabis.

A press release from U.S. Rep. Earl Blumenauer — a Democrat from Oregon who is the founder and co-chair of the Congressional Cannabis Caucus — says that "while the bill number may be a bit tongue in cheek, the issue is very serious," according to Forbes.

"Our federal marijuana laws are outdated, out of touch and have negatively impacted countless lives," Blumenauer is quoted as saying by the publication. "Congress cannot continue to be out of touch with a movement that a growing majority of Americans support. It's time to end this senseless prohibition."

Blumenauer's proposed bill would remove marijuana from the federal controlled substances list. The "Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol Act" would establish regulation for cannabis that would be overseen by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

The term "420" has become a global code for marijuana that dates back to the 1970s but gained popularity in the 1990s.

@Nazda

Cannabis like alcohol now will be legalized (turned into a legal business licensed/enforcement/prosecution/fines/taxes. Did I say taxes! Big business.

The age of majority rules will be in place to legally prevent minors from obtaining cannabis.

Cannabis now will be regulated like alcohol were by there will be designated places to smoke/vaporize.

If you drive while under the influence of cannabis you will be subject to the same legal process  as alcohol related DUI ie. loss of license/detainment/vehicle seizure/fines/imprisonment etc.

Your employers will want spot urine tests or breathalyzer tests in safety related work.

So as far as that goes you are right it's not a good thing Nazda. And we'll see how long before the corporations completely own it.

As far as the benefits of Cannabis being readily available for medical and recreational consumption I have always been for that. I am not a libtard atleast the last time I checked :)

I thank Cannabis everyday for the relief from post cancer/radiation side effects too many to bother here.

The benefits of Cannabis and hemp here: http://12160.info/profiles/blogs/available-on-line-for-free-the-emp...

I do agree that children and young people still under physiological development should avoid usage for the potential developmental harm and because of the legal system's potential entanglements.

Consider the damage alcohol has done in terms of destroying families, mortalities from domestic violence and vehicle accidents not to mention from overuse and abuse etc. etc..

Alcohol consumption will decline as Cannabis becomes mainstream and available and that's a good thing.

Not a good idea....sorry.  To smoke pot and go to work at a factory would be disastrous.  To smoke pot and be a kid....disastrous as well.  To smoke pot and be a surgeon would be disastrous.  Only the stupid libturds want this idiotic bill so everyone in America will be stoned out of their minds and become an even easier prey for the JWO.  No thanks.  Just shove it were the sun don't shine....
