Any thoughts on the first Republican Presidential Debate?

The Candidates

  • gary johnsonGary Johnson

Johnson served as governor of New Mexico from 1995 to 2002. He founded what would become one of the largest construction companies in New Mexico.  He has competed in several triathlons and climbed Mount Everest.

  • herman cainHerman Cain

Cain is the former chief executive of Godfather's Pizza and former chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. He lost the Georgia Republican primary for a U.S. Senate seat in 2004. He was recently the host of Atlanta-based radio show.

  • rick santorumRick Santorum

Santorum served two terms in the U.S. House and two terms in the U.S. Senate. He became the Senate's third-ranking Republican in 2001. He was defeated for reelection in 2006.

  • ron paulRon Paul

Paul is serving his 11th full term in the U.S. House.  He’s an obstetrician-gynecologist and was the Libertarian nominee for president in 1988.  He unsuccessfully sought the Republican nomination for president in 2008

  • tim pawlentyTim Pawlenty

Pawlenty served two terms as governor of Minnesota, from 2002 to 2010. He served in the Minnesota House from 1992 until 2002. He is the son of a truck driver.

FYI: I got the bios from Fox News lol.
Krypke's take on the candidates and how they did.

Gary Johnson is a poster boy Republican. He's rich. He's a businessman. He ran for office and won. He stated he had three more mountains to climb but he miscalculated. He has four. And winning the Rep. nomination for this man would be likened to reaching the summit on Olympus Mons, the Martian mountain that is the tallest in our solar system. David Icke can come too.

Herman Cain. A long legged Mac Daddy. He's pimpalicious. He's witty. He's charismatic, confident, he's pimpin and ready to pimp the nation and treat the government like a business. So he says. And so  vehemently. He was the CEO of Godfather Pizza which clearly glamorizes the mafia.  His very name is a suggestive technique called word liaison. Example: Politicians often speak of the common need. The liaison occurs here, mon-nee. See it, Com-mon need. Get it, money.  With Herman Cain, the liaison being Man-Cain or, yep you guessed it, McCain. This guy wreaks of corruption. Not to mention, ha, he was the chairman of the federal reserve bank in Kansas City. I honestly think this guy is a witty distraction and probably an unwitting agent.

Rick Santorum. Don't know much about the guy but he wasn't much of a crowd pleaser, I mean come on. He's no match for Trump or Palin... Romney. I'm thinking in terms of who can take on the more popular candidates. I noticed he and Pawlenty made quite an attempt at recycling Ron Paul's talking points from the 2007 Republican debates.

Tim Pawlenty. Pawlenty is a cut out politician. Total paper gangster. 20 years of politics for this guy shows big time. He walks, talks, moves, every gesticulation coming from this guy oozes politics. It's almost like watching an actor play a politician. But that's just it he's acting and his presence was overshadowed by Pimp Daddy and Dr. Paul.

Ron Paul. He did well. Not his best performance by a long shot. But good enough to be sure. The crowd loved him. Although they would never show the crowds reaction except for all of the hardcore neo-cons sitting right behind the moderators.

Paul was solid throughout as usual. He hammered on the FED, worked the crowd, cracked jokes, he seemed confident and comfortable. He's literally an "old pro" at this.

In the end I have to say, from an objective standpoint, it was a tie between Ron Paul and Herman Cain.

Thats the debate itself don't know where the group think event afterwards is...

I'd love to interview those subjects, where are you from, how where you approached for this group, was there a questionnaire-what questions were asked-etc, how active have you been in politics- please list, education level, wealth and please list the exact LAWS that the candidate you feel won would change-list the direct policys that he would change?

Did anyone watch the show after the debate? How Hannity's correspondent mind controlled that entire room of highly impressionable stooges. Reminded me of an infomercial advertising a product that eventually fails.

Notice how the guy kept his back to the camera most of the time. His body language even suggested he was mind controlling them. He was, "leading" them with statements and suggestion even through his hand gestures. If anyone has a dvr and recorded it, post it and I'll break down everything he was doing. It's text book stuff.

If Paul had a chance to start out as an independent and win he would. You have to play the game as a Rep or Dem then maybe break off if you dont win nomination.

I agree though the system is crap! total crap, biz should be banned from donating to candidates or PAC's. Much more just tierd to list.

Yep, RP won that one, considering Fox controls the questioning, which handicaps Paul.

He didn't get up to bat much, but when he did he hit it out of the park.

Krypke are you going to weigh in?

If we've made you afraid to respond truthfully I'm sorry, all I ask is that if some one makes statements or posts articles as you posted earlier that an attempt is made to defend them when legitimate rebuttals are made.

If you watched it I'd like to hear what you thought It's always helpful to hear from people that lean your way. I promise not to attack and no one else will ether. Lets hear it

Gary Johnson didn't do so well, he's not going to get a Rep. vote from what I saw.

Herman Cain did well with the crowd supposedly and I thought he did well but ultimately his answer basicly of I'll figure things out when I get into office is BS and he will just fall into doing whatever the CIA and DOD tells him to do as they did with Obama Likely.

Santorum is a religious nut, the guy is a Neocon ... FAIL, A government should tell you what to do in your personal life guy. I don't see him beating Obama. To far right, won't bridge the gap.

Ron Paul messed up his closing statement and failed to address one of the questions fully hopefully he is just rusty and will get into the swing of things here QUICK. Did very well and made the crowd erupt the loudest on one of his answers.

Tim Pawlenty, typical politician was for Global warming because it was popular at the time and will do what ever the globalists want. I don't see him bridging the gap btw Rep. and Dem ether.

Herman Cain is a contender, Ron Paul is as well but better step up and eat his wheaties and regain his stage presence. He needs to be the man I see in the TV interviews and learn to use buzz words better. Lots of things I would suggest to him. Gary J is not a problem no one should be worrying about him competing with Paul.
