Comment by DTOM on February 27, 2013 at 11:05am There is a cheaper alternative for controlled bumpfire, for those running AR based platforms...
Some have even built their own homemade bumpfire stocks - Youtube has examples that range from the crude to those that rival the commercial product.
But with ammo in such short supply, can anyone really afford to be burning it off?
Comment by B or D on February 27, 2013 at 12:50pm Very true, you can even use rubber bands to create the effect.. But try that shooting from normal eyes possition.. the recoil isn't controlled as it would be with a sidecoil (bump stock). And there are tons of inferior bumpstocks out there now days. And you will get what you pay for in the end. There are a few good "home made versions online as well as purchasing your own.
And I look at it this way, I would much rather have mine and know how to use it WHEN & IF I ever need too. It's alot like my gernerators, or battery banks etc.. I may not need them now. BUT, I have them for WHEN & IF I do need them.
