I finally got up the nerve to call our sheriff and ask him a few questions about gun control, the 2nd amendment, the constitution and a few other things. What a refreshing phone call and one that went much better than I could have anticipated. He has been our sheriff for several terms and said that he fully supported concealed carry, felt that the pres was over stepping his bounds and that he took his oath to the people very serious. Now I feel dumb for wasting time procrastinating and waiting to make the call. I also asked him if he was familiar with Richard Mack and his organization and he said he was familiar but not enough to make a public comment and his opinion of Oathkeepers wasnt what I was hoping, but overall like I said the conversation went great and I am glad I made it.
His opinion on Oathkeepers was that their stance was maybe a little too far right for him personally, which at least I appreciate his honesty.
Comment by Pit Bull on January 17, 2013 at 6:40pm I listen to RBN a lot and sometimes call in to a few of the shows, mostly The National Intel Report as I find John Stadtmillers steady calm demeanor and delivery refreshing as he doesnt try to fear monger. I decided to call in and share my experience today since Edwin Vierra was on and they were ddiscussing the @nd Amendment and whats going on. While on hold I listened as Edwin related how DHS has its tentacles firmly in all branches of law enforcement and are compiling lists of all "potential" threats and I kinda got a little uncomfortable and started to second guess my decision to make the call now wondering if I had somehow done something wrong. I got on related my story and once again John didnt disappoint and made me feel a little more confident in my decision pointing out that we shouldnt feel ashamed or intimidated to speak the truth and ask questions. Once again I felt dumb for second guessing myself.
