'My Picture Of Muhammad' Video Censored On Youtube (Deep Space)

Hi Deep Space,

At YouTube we want to make our site great for creators and viewers all over the world.

One of the ways we try and do this is by prohibiting the use of unrelated or misleading tags. Your video, My picture of Muhammad, was identified as violating this policy, and because of that it has been locked as private.

To undo this change, please:

  1. Watch this video to learn more about YouTube’s policy on misleading metadata.
  2. Remove any unrelated or misleading tags from the “description” and “tag” sections of your video. (Here are some metadata tips.)
  3. Once you’ve made your changes, submit the video for review by clicking the “Locked as private [Appeal]” button in the Video Manager section of your channel. You can only file one appeal per video, so please be sure to review all the information above before submitting!

Once we review the video, we’ll contact you with the next steps.

Please note: this action has not resulted in a strike.

Thanks! - The YouTube Team

So Youtube did a total dick move on me about this video. The main complaint was tags that weren't related to the video. So I deleted them & appealed. Youtube then told me (since I deleted the unrelated tags) the video would be allowed to be viewable again. But it isn't. It's still locked in 'private' mode which means I am the only one allowed to view the video. And since you can't appeal anything twice the video remains in a black hole. To be honest, I don't give a shit about the video. I was drunk & frankly it's not my best work, but the point is CENSORSHIP. This is how they fuck with content creators on youtube.

Dear Deep Space,

Thank you for submitting your video appeal to YouTube. After further review, we've determined that while your video does not violate our Community Guidelines, it may not be appropriate for a general audience. We have therefore age-restricted your video.

For more information please visit the YouTube Help Center.

Notice how the link to the video in their response is absent.

Which means this was totally intentional, because every other appeal I've done with youtube,

the link to the video in question is ALWAYS in their response.

Not this time.

I suggest all content creators appeal every restriction youtube places on any of your videos. (including age restrictions). Appealing is as simple as clicking a button & giving a reason. The standard reason I usually provide is; "You guys are a bunch of fascist book-burning Nazis".

Even if you know your appeal is likely to be denied, some schmuck over at youtube, who makes $10/hr is gonna have to manually watch your video & think about it & basically waste his time & clog up the whole reviewing process & waste youtube's money.

So appeal everything.

Only takes one click & a short sentence why you're appealing.
