South Central LA Tea Party to Protest Against NAACP

The Christian Newswire exults this headline like a halleluiah: The South Central LA Tea Party, in a move that is supposed to show that the Tea Party is not all-white and all-racist, holding a protest against the NAACP. This anti-NAACP protest is their inaugural event – against the NAACP’s 102nd annual convention in Los Angeles on July 24. Just to make its point, this is a black-led chapter of the Tea Party. Yes, there are a few black Tea Partiers dodging all those Confederate flags and racial slurs, just as there are a few gay Republicans.

The South Central LA Tea Party is led by Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, a black conservative. Peterson is to the Tea Party what Herman Cain is to the GOP. Peterson, who is President of BOND Action (The Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny) says “The NAACP is a tool of the Obama administration.”

ReTeaParty.com proudly lists his other bona fides:

He is also the author of SCAM – How Black Leadership Exploits Black America. (Peterson is also the creator of the National Day of Repudiation of Jesse Jackson)

While Bond Action describes their fearless leader thusly:

Rev. Lee Peterson is the most courageous, outspoken critic of the liberal left and the so-called “black leadership” in America today. Often referred to as the “antidote to Jesse Jackson”, Jesse Peterson is also the man behind the National Boycott of the NAACP, believing the organization to be nothing more than a tool of the “elite, socialist” elements of the Democratic Party.

Sounds like a re-tread of Herman Cain-ism. ReTeaParty.com makes this bizarre and near-orgasmic claim at the thought of having genuinely black people speaking out on their behalf (remember, like Herman Cain, all genuinely black people are Republicans):

There is more openness and welcoming spirit at any Tea Party in America than there is at a Media Matters for America open house, or, as the NAACP recently purported, CNN.

Yeah, nothing says “welcome” like Storm Troopers. Wow, we must have missed all that welcome in the blitz of hate-inspired legislation since 2010. Here is their alternate-reality rally notice:

• NAACP spreading lies about the Tea Party movement. NAACP has made numerous false allegations of ‘racism’ against the Tea Party movement, but has yet to provide a shred of evidence backing up their baseless claims.
• Support for failing public schools and unions. The NAACP has aligned itself with the United Federation of Teachers to block 22 of the worst performing schools in New York City from being shut down. This has put them at odds with thousands of black parents in Harlem who support replacing these failing public schools with charter schools.
• NAACP’s hypocrisy on crime and race. The NAACP has remained silent while black thugs attack white Americans and commit crimes in flash mobs across the country — but NAACP President Benjamin Jealous says he’s “deeply concerned” with the lack of black news anchors on Television.
• The NAACP supports black genocide. As an ally of Planned Parenthood and abortion on demand, the NAACP has aided and abetted in the death of some 15 million black babies since the Supreme Court’s 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling legalizing abortion.

My guess is they will get some patriots of all races, but they won’t be like-minded. Nothing like bringing out black support for the Tea Party by calling the NAACP anti-black or speaking up for equal rights by throwing women under a bus. It’s rather like rallying Jewish support by attacking the ADL. Let’s face it: most blacks (like most everyone who isn’t a white fundamentalist Christian) are Democrats – and for good reason.

There has been a plethora of bizarre legislation from the Tea Party since 2010 but none of it has been quite as ill-thought out as this brain-storm. It seems clear that where brain-cell distribution is concerned, liberals and progressives got to the head of the line in LA. Conservatives might be willing to work against their own self-interests, but the rest of us are not.
