Should we screen everyone running for public service for psychopathy?

Very interesting comment I found on a Youtube video, today.

It's a very progressive idea & makes a lot of sense & I think it's something worthy of discussion considering that the vast majority of people attracted to public service aren't really interested in serving the public but instead have ulterior motives in serving themselves because they suffer from characteristics on the psychopathic spectrum.

Here is the comment I suggest is worthy of consideration:

"Yes, I do see we are ruled by psychopaths. Someone has to introduce a law (worldwide) that pre-screens and disqualifies all public servants with the Hare Psychopathy Checklist, MRI brain scans and the MAOA gene. The brains of psychopaths are functionally and architecturally distinguishable from normal brains, their DNA carries a marker gene and their behavior, which we all can see, confirms it. We wouldn't allow lions and alligators to roam the streets of our communities, so why are we allowing human predators and parasites to dictates our public policies? Psychopath governments and corporations are creating sociopaths, psychotics and neurotics. Let's do something about that. Look it up. Spread the word. Demand the psychopath pre-screening law."

Everyone who holds local, state or federal positions as well as elected officials should have to under go rigorous mental health evaluations. Too many sociopaths in public office now.

That' right, certain positions are are designed to attract psychos., Interviews for high n' mighty roles require attributes they aspire to. You're not on a short list otherwise. I deal with HR -hire n' fire types, in 'dismissal' situations. They're two faced, uninhibited, no empathy, no remorse, seek their own rewards and gains foremost, and have immaculate attire. It's what I put up with,( but never for long ). If HUMAN RESOURCES DEPT arrives, I take the 'human' component out and rebuke them for mismanagement of the resource (unit). They are acting for the company, and I take away the set. When Short, firm and factual statements are fired at them they can't cope, and Fail. Less is More, when it comes to putting psychos in their place. (I haven't loss a "job" yet, even though the individuals often deserve it, for the things they do. Other employees are sometimes disappointed and I'm never flavour of the month) but that's ok.

The PCL-R alone could be subject to false-positive diagnosis by biased psychologists and even though two independent raters evaluate the behavioral records, this risk of manipulation still could exist.  Yet, the DNA analysis and MRI scans are hard-science chemical and electromagnetic resonance data and are far less susceptible to bias.  Anonymity of the patient's data, when passed on for diagnostics, would reduce risk of bias.  Most people can see the distinct differences in the MRI scans (see image above) and DNA data, being a sequence of letters representing adenine, guanine, cytosine, and thymine is impossible to lie about.  It is possible to switch a patient's DNA results for another's, so while deceitful people still exist within the systems, practices for anonymous diagnosis would have to be devised.  Any approach to removing deceitful and manipulative people from a system overrun by deceitful and manipulative people will take some planning and continuous monitoring.  That's certain.  Yet the thought that it's too complicated and prone to bias to even begin is defeatist.  The problem of predatory, parasitic psychopaths in public service exists, because of the lack of motive and will to do something about it.

Yes, yes, and absolutely yes. There currently is no reliable screening process though and trying to not have it hijacked in some way is quite the challenge.

While In a perfect world I might agree, the actual criteria are a spectrum and sorta mushy... 

And the Field of Psychiatry is *massively* & unhealthly lefty, so the inevitable result is any one even remotely right wing is a tagged psychopath at the least provocation and the lefty's get a pass. "Oh no she's just "driven"

Point noted. I guess the bigger issue is; is the motivation of a psychopath healthy or toxic to the Whole / All?

Idk I've read before that most successful, driven professionals have many traits of psychopaths. Supposedly, they are traits that actually help them succeed. We definitely need to screen them for something though, so this may be a good start!
And I responded:
Yeah. It's complicated. For instance, all serial killers are psychopaths. But not all psychopaths are serial killers.
