A brilliant documentary by John Pilger an investigative journalist. "Paying the Price: Killing the Children of Iraq", as a documentary is interesting not only because it shows just how massively people have been unaware of what had been going on in Iraq, before the coalition of the willing decided to implement regime change in another country but, it also opens your eyes to the pre-Iraq war history of international crimes against the Iraqi people, majority being children.

Think of the outrage you felt when the recent massacre happened at a school in Newtown, NJ. And then consider what has been inflicted on millions of children in Iraq. How does it make you feel about being an American and having not done enough, even until now, to put a spoke in your Government's wheel of evil running over faultless and helpless little children in Iraq, and so many other countries of the world?

What happens when modern civilized life is taken away? Imagine all the things we take for granted are suddenly not available, or severely limited: clean water, fresh food, soap, paper, pencils, books, light bulbs, life-saving drugs. Telephone calls to the outside world are extremely difficult, computers no longer work, when you fall ill you must sell your furniture to buy medicine, when you have a tooth out there’s no anesthetic or painkiller. No country will trade with yours, and your money is almost worthless. Soon your children become beggars. It’s as if the world has condemned your whole society to a slow death, and all because of a dispute between governments over which you have no control. That’s what has happened in Iraq, where decades of extraordinary isolation, imposed by the U.N. and enforced by America and Britain, killed more people than the two atomic bombs dropped on Japan, including half a million young children.
