Not only did his official bio list his birthplace as Kenya, but it was used over a 16 year period to promote the rising star, suddenly changing the bio to list Hawaii as his birthplace just before launching his 2007 campaign that would ultimately catapult him into the Oval Office.

Archive.org shows that the Dystel website used the following biography for Obama as of April 3, 2007:
