Mayor Bloomberg: "We'll See" If The City Will Let Occupy Wall Street Continue

New Yorkers need "to help the banks" was Mayor Michael Bloomberg's message to the Occupy Wall Street crowd in his weekly radio appearance on the John Gambling show.

Asked if there's an "end-game" for the protesters and if they will be allowed to stay in Zuccotti Park, which is privately owned but open to the public, Bloomberg said, "We'll see.

"You know people have a right to protest but we also have to make sure that people who don't want to protest can go down the streets unmolested. We have to make sure that while you can say what you want to say, people who want to say something very different have a right to say that as well. That's what's great about this country."

Bloomberg Claims ‘Occupy Wall Street’ Protesters Are Targeting Bankers Who ‘Are Struggling To Make Ends Meet’

This morning, while on local radio host John Gambling’s show, New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg was asked about the demonstrations on Wall Street. Bloomberg condemned the protests, claiming that the protesters are targeting people who making “$40-50,000 a year and are struggling to make ends meet.” He then went on to say people are focusing too much on the causes of the financial crisis and that we need to be nicer to the banking industry so that it starts lending again. He concluded by saying that we are “blaming the wrong people” by “blaming the banks” for the recession:

9/11 Truth Rescue Me TV Show Daniel Sunjata's character starts talking 9/11 theories this seaosn

Sunjata will get extra attention in the fifth season of "Rescue Me" (beginning 9 p.m. Tuesday) when it's revealed that Franco believes in a 9/11 conspiracy theory, a view the actor shares (see sidebar).

Sunjata has his own 9/11 suspicions

One of the more interesting, and controversial, storylines in the new season of "Rescue Me" revolves around firefighter Franco Rivera and his belief that 9/11 was an "inside job."

As it turns out, Daniel Sunjata, who plays Franco, subscribes to the same conspiracy theory.

"I was shocked that they added it to the show," Sunjata admitted. "When I saw the script, I thought it was a practical joke."

Executive producer Peter Tolan says Sunjata is "well read" and has "done a lot of research" on the topic.

"Obviously, not all of us buy into it," Tolan said. "But we thought it was an interesting angle and it was sitting right there in our lap."

In the second episode of the season, Franco delivers a two-minute monologue to a French journalist about a "neoconservative government effort" to control the world's oil, increase military spending and "change the definition of pre-emptive attack."

Ask Sunjata about these theories, and he'll talk your ear off. It's an interesting rant that, at times, verges on the convincing.

"I think this is something that should concern all Americans," Sunjata said. "And the fact that it's included in the show, without bias or slant, is laudable."
