A winter storm is spreading snow across the upper Midwest Monday and Tuesday, which will continue into the Appalachians and Mid-Atlantic by Wednesday and Thursday.
Snowfall accumulations by Tuesday should be from 6-12 inches from Fargo, N.D. through Minneapolis, Minn., through the southern suburbs of Chicago, according to AccuWeather meteorologist Brian Edwards.
Winter storm warnings are in effect for parts of Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia.
In the city of Chicago, at least 6 inches of snow accumulation is expected through Tuesday.
