Food packaging is full of flouride and is very damaging

I Had to post this as a warning to all of you in here so you can spread the word.

Yesterday the mainstream media here in Denmark told that food packaging around the world is full of flouride and is very damaging to ones health (we all in here know the reasons why). But the scale of this problem is huge cuz all we see now is the tip of the iceberg its in everything from lettuce to french fries. Further more the media reported it as big news but after digging just a little in the past on the internet i found articles written by engineers warning about the problem of flouride contaminating the food in the packaging.

NOW READ THE ARTICLES !

Packaging for food is loaded with pollutants

Six out of ten paper bags with food contains pollutants that increase the risk of cancer and kidney disease
Bags around microwave popcorn and organically behind self-rye mixture contains such high concentrations of fluoride indestructible substances that may be harmful to eat the contents of the volumes Danes normally consume.
It concludes Xenia Trier in his doctoral dissertation from the Department and University of Copenhagen.
Six out of ten paper bags and cardboard boxes with ordinary foods that have been investigated in the thesis contains the toxin, which increases the risk of breast cancer and chronic kidney disease.
Accumulate in the body
The Engineer magazine reported that Friday publish the results. In the most exposed containers comprised 0.9 percent of the paper of the so-called perfluorinated substances
- These substances accumulate in the body, and therefore we should not be exposed to them continually through our food, says Xenia Trier.
Though she keeps preferably entirely from food that is in direct contact with paper and cardboard. She prefers plastic.
- Paper should suck fat. When it does, it's a little fishy, says researcher for the news magazine The Engineer.
In humans, the substances and their degradation products as well as indestructible. They have a half life of four to eight years in the blood and stored in mainly liver and kidneys, probably forever.
Worse than phthalates
Therefore, fluoride compounds, according to Allan Astrup Jensen, director of Nordic Institute of Product Sustainability, a bigger problem than the hormone-disrupting phthalates.
- There are more and more evidence that fluoride compounds are harmful, even in concentrations that are common in humans, said Professor Eva Cecilie Bonefeld-Jørgensen, Aarhus University.
She has a new study found an association with breast cancer. Other studies show that increased levels of fluoride compounds almost doubles the risk of chronic kidney disease.
In light of the finds Food Administration commissioned a survey of DTU, which will show how many of the harmful fluoride compounds, which seep into the food. Until then, the Board let stand bags on the shelves.

Toxic fluoride compounds in popcorn bags

Popcorn bags and other fast food packaging impregnated with fluorine compounds, which are suspected to be carcinogenic. The chemicals migrate into fast food, and it accumulates in the human body. That worries environmental chemist.
By Jacob Martini, Monday 05th March 2007 pm. 18:00
French fries, burgers and microwave popcorn are probably wrapped in paper containing harmful chemicals.

The U.S. food authorities documenting a study that microwave popcorn contains fluorine compounds from the packaging. At home, the authorities will now investigate some greaseproof paper packaging.

"I am very concerned about these fluoride compounds. They are a ticking time bomb, because they accumulate in the organs. It's not that we first deal with the problem when it is too late, "says environmental chemist Allan Astrup from Force Technology.

According to the survey from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has popcorn bags impregnated with 25 mg fluorinated chemicals per square. The substances migrates to the popcorn oil during heating, so a person who eats a bag of microwave popcorn, occupies 0.11 mg of fluoride compounds.

This gives popcorn bags a several hundred times greater impact than Teflon pans, previously, amid great media attention, has been accused of submitting similar fluorinated compounds.

FDA emphasizes that the quantity is not acutely harmful, but should be taken seriously because the substances over time accumulate in humans.
Carcinogenic
The fluorinated substances used to surface treat greaseproof paper, is the unknown extent degraded to compound PFOA, which are hormone disruptors and carcinogenic in animal studies.

"PFOA is the substance that we know best, but the entire substance group is problematic. Yet these substances is widespread among other things for the coating of greaseproof paper, "says Allan Astrup.

Beyond bags of microwave popcorn, U.S. researchers found fluorinated chemicals including French fries trays, sandwich paper and paper molds for muffins.

"With the levels we've seen in greaseproof paper, we choose now to focus our further research on the type of products," says research director Tim Begley from the FDA to Inge ¬ neers.

In Denmark, new studies over the next three years show whether chemicals are also found in products on the Danish market and the extent to which they are transferred to the food.

"All the cardboard and paper, which can reject oil or water, impregnated or have a surface coating that may well contain fluorinated chemicals. Especially in heated foods. Here are the fluorinated compounds far more stable and functional than other forms of surface treatment, "says an MSc. Xenia Thorsager Trier, which stands for the Danish studies in collaboration between the Technical University of Denmark and Copenhagen University.

At chips manufacturer Kims A / S is the information about fluoride compounds in U.S. microwave popcorn as a surprise.

"If this is the case in the U.S., it should also be investigated in Denmark. I will investigate the matter immediately with my packaging supplier and follow closely in the coming Danish studies in this area, "says managing director Carsten Hanell.

At EU level, the Food Safety Authority EFSA established a working group is preparing an assessment of the extent and risks of fluorinated chemicals in food packaging.

Minister: Toxic food packages should be checked

In February, the authorities in control of the harmful fluoride compounds are transferred from packaging to food

20:56, 17 November 2011 | Ritzau / coup!

Food Administration will immediately begin to determine whether hazardous substances migrating from packaging into the foods we eat. It assures food minister Mette Gjerskov (S).
Six out of 10 paper bags and cardboard boxes with ordinary foods contain persistent fluorinated substances which increase the risk of breast cancer and chronic kidney disease. According to a new doctoral dissertation by chemist Xenia Trier from DTU and the University of Copenhagen.
- It gives rise naturally to frown in Food & Drug Administration. But it is important to emphasize that it is illegal for substances that people become ill, can be transferred from the packaging. Sentence says Mette Gjerskov.
You can not say that the authorities failed in their oversight of packaging for food, as there is a new drug, says the Minister.
- Food & Drug Administration has acted on this as soon as you got the information. And it's actually the companies responsible for providing documentation here.
- We can not accept that people are sick of packing. It is totally unacceptable. Therefore, I take the matter quite seriously, says Gjerskov.
The human body is the perfluorinated compounds and their degradation products virtually indestructible. They have a half life of four to eight years in the blood and stored mainly in liver and kidneys, writes engineer.
Food Authorities should use until February to see if indeed humans and animals migrate from paper bag for food, assesses Mette Gjerskov. But she does not believe consumers should feel insecure as long.
- This is about long term effects, and it's not something one drops dead of tomorrow. We can not go out with fire and fire without having proof, says the Minister.
According to Professor Eva Cecilie Bonefeld-Jørgensen from Aarhus University, more and more evidence that fluoride compounds are harmful - even in concentrations that are common in humans.

True that, i always keep my glas jars. Also very handy if making jam, juice, pickles ect ect. or to store seeds in em and the taste is very noteable from plastic ones.

Buy in bulk as much as possible.  Use glass to store foods, not plastic.  This is so sick but I'm not surprised at all.
