In Ukraine, pro-Russian protestors have taken over a regional government building in the eastern city of Donetsk and declared a "people's republic". The Ukrainian interim President Oleksandr Turchynov says it's "the second wave" of a Russian operation to destabilise his country.
All eyes on E. Ukraine today. Could get stupid quick.

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) blasted the Obama administration on Monday for not providing military aid to Ukraine, arguing that it could invite further aggression from Russia.
His comments come after pro-Russian demonstrators took over government buildings in the eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk, according to reports.
“As the risk of further Russian aggression against Ukraine appears to be growing, it is outrageous that the Obama Administration still has not met the Ukrainian government’s request for modest military assistance,” McCain said in a statement.

#Ukraine's#Kharkiv proclaim the region "independent republic".Early this morning, there were a few tweets, some with pics, in English and Russian, showing what were described as fighter jets flying approx 6 kilometers from the Russian boarder. Since the NATO lead commander has been accusing Russia of getting ready to invade for 2 weeks now and has prepared for such, any breach of boarder, accidentally or otherwise could trigger the unthinkable.
Also, Kiev had sent orders to Donetsk, Kharkiv and a 3rd city re: separatist activities, that were subsequently refused. Then followed reports of Ukraine troops sent to those areas.

Off to the side Kerry and Larvov do their finger wagging thing. But I've noticed a near absence of any reported display of American exceptionalism at the same time stories are leaking from Western editorial rooms that they've never seen this kind of effort by govt to steer stories. Off the list completely: What the US could/might/wish to do. The US will play this very much as the "West" and "NATO" .... if only.
An aside: I'm thinking if we don't hear any retarded rants from John McCain in the next 72 hours, he's been promised the war he wants.
