The President has the power of Judge, Jury and Executioner

Attorney General Eric Holder said that under “extraordinary circumstances” the President can authorize drone strikes against American citizens in the United States. The trouble with this is that on his own and without judicial proceedings the President could become a citizen’s Judge, Jury and executioner. 

This is a direct violation of the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendment Constitutional guarantee that a citizen can elect to be judged by a jury of his/her peers and face his/her accuser. This is the kind of approach that occurs in authoritarian governments. History is replete with dictators who have given themselves the right to kill their countrymen.  Under Holder’s interpretation of the Constitution a president could classify anyone who objects to his policies as an enemy of the State and a security threat and use the military to kill him or her.

The Washington Post reports, “In addition to Mr. Cruz and Mr. Lee, others who showed up and spoke included Sens. Liberal progressives who support Obama’s drone policies have changed into something frightening. Their support for Obama’s violation of the Constitution can only be described as reactionary.

OBAMA PROMISED TO TRANSFORM AMERICA.  Destroying our values and the Constitution is not the transformation most American’s expected or voted for. The arrogance of this White House is mind boggling. Where does Congress stand in this matter?
