Latest FDA Ploy:
Using the "Food Control Law"
to Ban Advanced Dietary Supplements!

Dr. Paul G. King, PhD, during a discussion with Dr. Rima Laibow and myself earlierthis week , reminded us that the comment period for the FDA "new dietary ingredient" rule [promulgated not under DSHEA, but rather, under what we call the Food Control Act of 2010] ends October 5th. Since the new rule is rather complex, it may take a bit of time to analyze and fully respond.

But that is just what we plan to do: analyze and expose. We'd like your participation in that process, so "stay tuned" as we develop a strategy to stop this latest assault on our Health and Food Freedoms.

Dr. Rima reminds us of what happened in 2007 when FDA tried to push through its infamous CAM Guidance. The FDA comment system collapsed after your 198,000 comments (698,000 tried to comment!) and the guidance was never finalized. That Action Item "went viral" and your Push Back prevailed.

My concern is that this new rule "codifies" the abuse of power that FDA got away with in the matter of pyradoxamine, B6, the vitamin it recently banned at the request of a drug company. Dr. King reminds me that, if that's all the new rule did, it would be bad, but, he says, it does much, much more... and is much, much worse!

I have to agree with him; the FDA seeks to use the so-called FDA Food Safety Modernization Act of 2010 to trump the dietary supplement freedoms we won in 1994 with the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA).

So we propose to facilitate a discussion among health and food freedom advocates about a pooling views and analyses to strengthen the response to the proposed rule.

Our existing No Food Control Action Item has been updated to include this bad FDA regulation.

You never wavered in your (and our!) opposition to the Food Control Law and now we won't waver in our opposition to its implementation!

Q: What do the Valley of the Moon Eco Demonstration Project and the NSF Green Fund have in common?

A: From Dr. Rima: A great deal and very little.

Let me explain.

Valley of the Moon Eco Demonstration Project, www.NaturalSolutionsFoundation.org, was conceived as a project to reclaim the production of clean, unadulterated food on a world-wide basis. Later on in this article I will tell you how it came about. But it is only one project of many around the world - we already have two agricultural projects in Benin, Africa, testing a leading edge technology to improve crops without any chemicals or toxic inputs, for example. But there is SO much more to do. The choke point is not knowhow, enthusiasm or skill. The choke point is funding. Pure and simple, the other side has more money than God because their friends print it for them and steal it from you.

We, on the other hand, are severely limited by the funds we have available.

So, when a professional Fund Manager of 25 years experience met us, talked with us and proposed a dedicated Fund to allow us to do all of our projects around the world, INCLUDING the Valley of the Moon Eco Demonstration Prokject, we vetted him carefully, considered the option and said "Yes!".

NSF Green Fund was born at that moment.

Here's how it works:

You decide you want to support the work of the Natural Solutions Foundation and you make funds available to us in one of two ways:

You specify that the Valley of the Moon Project is the project you want your funds to go and you, in return, receive a Beneficial Interest Certificate (BIC) giving you the rights and priviledges associated with it which includes the right to build and own a house on the project and other rights as well.

Or you decide to place your money in the NSF Green Fund without specifying that it is designated for that project and it will be placed in a 3 year bond, insured and used to pay you your interest and available to you at the end of the three years to either reinvest or to withdraw.
