Drunk Driving Is Illegal, Except For Illegals – Border Patrol Ordered Not To Arrest DUI Offenders

If one wants to know what it’s like being above the law, they could always ask an elitist Washington politician. But since that access is somewhat limited, and you can’t swing a dead cat in America without someone hollering “Cuidado, un Gato Muerto!” it would be much easier to ask a member of the new imported privileged class, the illegal border crasher.

Of course, as more and more privileges are bestowed upon our new elite squatter class and more and more of the people’s money is used to support them, it’s getting much harder for the communists in power to deny what they are doing. They still try, but fewer and fewer American citizens are willing to just sit down and do as they are told.

The new directive applies to a 262 mile long stretch along the Mexico-Arizona border in the Tucson sector, one of the busiest illegal drug and human trafficking sectors they serve.

The notice of the new policy is titled, “Enforcement Options With Alcohol-Impaired Drivers.” The directive is quite clinical in its approach to the problem, placing the future amnesty options of the illegal criminal alien above those of innocent American motorists. It goes so far as to answer hypothetical questions of the consequences of failure to arrest by Border Patrol Agents.

There is no consideration given to the moral implications of an accident and possible associated deaths, merely to the legal liability which could or could not be experienced by the releasing officer. It proposes the hypothetical question, “If you allow this driver to continue down the road and they kill someone, aren’t you liable?” It then goes on to reassure the officer that, aside from personal issues of conscience, which the DHS establishment surely regards as mere superstitious silliness, the safest route is to just let them drive off.

The DHS memo states, “There is no legal requirement for a Border Patrol agent to intervene in a state crime, including DUI.” It adds, “Therefore there is generally no liability that will attach to the agent or agency for failing to act in this situation.”

The directive also advises Border Patrol Officers regarding the detainment of an impaired illegal alien driver at the request of state or local law enforcement officers. It says, “There is no duty to detain the alcohol-impaired individual, but if you do this option can raise potential liability for the agent and the agency.”

Another scenario, in which a Border Patrol agent detains an illegal drunk driver in Arizona without a request from a state or local law enforcement officer, is depicted as little more than a roll of the dice. The memo says regarding this situation, “This option poses the greatest liability for both the agent and the agency.” Making the threat a personal one from DHS to the agents, it says, “Be advised, this option poses the greatest threat to an agent for a civil lawsuit.”

The Obama regime hates Arizona for standing up for the rights of American citizens, so it makes sense that they would target the people of that state for retaliation by exposing them to even greater threats from their open borders. Now, in parts of Arizona, revellers have two options for getting home at night; a sober, designated driver or a drunk illegal criminal alien that is above the law.

This directive is obviously intended to minimize the number of illegals who fail to qualify for amnesty as a result of a DUI arrest or conviction, evidence of the regime putting a higher value on those qualifications than the safety of the American public.

That’s nothing new. Under the Obama regime the wellbeing of illegals has always taken precedent over that of the American people. Whether it be by the conduct of a violent criminal act, DUI or other violations, getting away with lawbreaking is something the illegal aliens and the regime have in common, in addition to their falsified identities and backgrounds.
