Dan Bongino, a 12-year veteran of the Secret Service now running for Congress in Maryland, says he believes the "toxic" Obama administration is using the government as a "weapon exclusively to intimidate enemies,” the New York Post reported Wednesday.

“We’re in a very dangerous place right now. There are so many scandals going on right now with this administration, any one of them in my opinion could be absolutely catastrophic for what this country stands for,” he told the Post.

“That scandal in itself is a huge deal," he said of Obamacare. "We are in such a dangerous place with this administration, they use this government as a shiny new toy — this little red ball they just got — because they are so inexperienced with it."

Bongino said that that wasn't the case with the Clintons, even though he disagreed with a lot of their political positions.

"I can’t tell you that they thought government was a weapon exclusively to intimidate their enemies," he said. "But this administration constantly seems to use government [as a weapon] because they are inexperienced with it — it’s like giving a kid a Bowie knife and saying, ‘Have fun.’ They gave this administration which has no experience the reins of government and they have just gone wild.”

Bongino told the Post he grew tired of hearing Obama speak.

"Protecting President Clinton, I never found his speeches to be toxic, like if you disagreed you were his mortal enemy," he said. "With Obama, you are not just his political enemy, you are his real enemy if you disagreed. I couldn’t listen to it any more.”

This is not the first time Bongino has slammed the Obama administration.

In an interview with Glenn Beck, for example, he warned the government under Obama will use everything it can against those it perceives as enemies.

"It’s only a matter of time before someone slaps an email on your desk from fifteen years ago… and says ‘look what we got against you,’" he said.

The situation, he recently said, is much worse than people know.

“It’s to the point where these scandals in and of themselves [that] would be huge, backbreaking scandals are just lot in the ‘scandal fog’ of this administration,” he told Beck. “It’s worse than people know; I’m not trying to scare you either.”

He also warned that the government will abuse whatever information people give it.

“It is not a matter of if it will be abused, it’s only a matter of when,” he added.

ABC News said that "the fog of scandals in the Obama administration" and an inside look at the Obamacare debate led Bongino to turn in his badge and run for office. The report also said Bongino "turned on his boss," meaning President Obama.
