The Mayor of Chillicothe says the city's police chief violated a work directive in connection with allegedly intimidating a fellow city employee.

Mayor Jack Everson announced on Friday that Chillicothe Police Chief Roger Moore could be placed on a one-day suspension without pay.

An investigation was launched into Moore after a city employee, Tamra Lowe, called 911 to report Moore.

She told 911 dispatchers that Moore was in her office and refused to leave after she asked him. She told authorities that she felt threatened and intimidated.

On Monday, the mayor said that there was no criminal wrongdoing in Moore's behavior.

In a release on Friday, the mayor said that Moore violated a directive given to him after another incident in March.

Moore was accused of getting into an altercation at the Cozy Inn on March 16. The chief was recorded on cell phone video engaged in a heated verbal exchange with another person.

After an investigation into the incident revealed no criminal wrongdoing, Everson said he gave Moore the directive to "Not place himself in a position that will bring negative attention to the Department or the City of Chillicothe."

Everson said that he believed Moore violated that with the incident with Lowe.
