Having heard some of the criticism of his position on the public financing of professional sports, this author presents his peremptory qualifications as a football fan.

1) In Elementary school, when weather permitted recess was roughly evenly divided between school yard foot ball and deer tag;
2) In Junior High, during summer vacation, this author broke his hip playing sandlot football;
3) In Senior High, this author played on the High School Football Team;
4) In College, this author played intramural football;
5) This author was affiliated with certain undisclosed parties that smuggled kegs into Golden Gopher football games at Memorial Stadium during college;
6) If the this author had grown up in Minnesota, he would be a Vikings Fan;
7) If The ViQueens had had a winning team when this author first came from Wisconsin to Minnesota for College, he would now be a Vikings fan instead of remaining a Packer fan.

Having firmly established he is not some prissy poindexter that shares no love of the game and is just acting as a spoiler, we shall continue.

It is almost beyond reasoned belief that this debate of the public financing of a new stadium for the Minnesota Vikings continues.

Last year, in public hearing after public hearing, the WE THE PEOPLE showed up in great numbers and with great enthusiasm and said, “Hell No!” to public financing. Yet hear we are again in 2012, being bombarded with new angles on how to jam a stadium project that includes jamming public funding down our throats. Public financing of this nature is likely unconstitutional and/or certainly not in the best interests of WE THE PEOPLE.
