Several of the officers involved including the perp dog shooter were previously named in a lawsuit by the owner of the dog. The owner is a local activist and the dog was shot to terrorize the owner into dropping his lawsuit. This is a felony violation of federal civil rights criminal law and carrys a life sentence!

Many angered by the recent shooting of a Rottweiler by a Hawthorne police officer are expected to protest on Saturday at the police station.

The rally's organizers said attendees will advocate for the firing of the officer who shot the dog and that the department's officers be trained to ensure a similar incident does not happen again.
