Let's start by looking at The Revelation 21:1, "Then I saw a new heavens and a new earth". I don't know if I've ever seen a Bible translation/version even get the word 'heavens' correct here; it's usually the incorrect 'heaven'. Getting 'heavens' and 'heaven' confused is the number 174 problem with all Christianity! It began with Genesis 1:1 in the KJV using "heaven", but that has been corrected by almost every Bible translation/version since including Bible NETWork. But check out the Bible NETWork version of Rev 21:1 - it's wrong! 'Heavens' is the sky, low-Earth-orbit, this solar system, deep-space. 'Heaven' is an ideal frame-of-mind where one is close to GOD and loved ones, and feels like they're in a paradise setting of space and time. "The kingdom of heaven is at hand." - Matthew 3:2, Mt 4:17, Mt 10:7, Mark 1:15. This correct definition of heaven fulfills the prophecy of "a new heaven".

Space-telescopes from NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA), and ground-based telescopes have confirmed that thousands of exoplanets have been detected. Earth-like planets are the BIGGEST discovery ever and the announcement of some 'Goldilocks candidate(s)' could happen any day! This satisfies the prophecy of "a new earth". Most astrophysicists now agree with the hypothesis that the Big Bang 13.75 billion years ago was the result of a supermassive black hole in another universe. This 'simple' cause-and-effect explains both infinite space and infinite time (eternity). Most Christians throw around the term "eternal life" without having a good understanding of what eternity really means! We now have the fulfilled prophecy of "a new heavens".
