Russia’s Rokot carrier rocket successfully launched from the Plesetsk space center in northern Russia early on Wednesday, RIA Novosti quoted the Defense Ministry as saying.
The goal of the mission is to put three military satellites into orbit.
"On Wednesday, December 25, at 04:31 a.m. Moscow time from launcher platform 3, number 133, the rocket was successfully launched,” said Aerospace Defense Colonel Dmitry Zenin.
The satellites are expected to reach their designated orbits around two hours after the launch. It was the fourth launch to take place at the Plesetsk center this year.
