They obviously look like snipers with more than one assault rifle. Can these people be identified as French Police or Military?
France has seen more than its fair share of riots, especially the "Reign of Terror" in 1793 during the French Revolution. This current situation in Paris seems to be creating the same spark used to start the US Revolutionary War at Lexington (1775), and the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia's Red Square (1917).
Realistically, a Police or Military sniper would not take position on a lower balcony... unless they wanted to be seen. Besides, don't the Police and the Military supposedly sympathize with the protesters?
