Snowden impersonated NSA officials, sources say
“Every day, they are learning how brilliant [Snowden] was,” said a former U.S. official with knowledge of the case. “This is why you don’t hire brilliant people for jobs like this. You hire smart people. Brilliant people get you in trouble.”
The NSA still doesn’t know exactly what Snowden took.
“The damage, on a scale of 1 to 10, is a 12,” said a former intelligence official.
The NSA declined to comment.

I don't know what those controls are- I'll look that up. Our intelligence depends so heavily on contractors because they don't have the in-house brains. The people with the skillz are not attracted to working for the gov't, and even less attracted to working against the people. So these types of things are going to continue. If I just kick back and fantasize how things might work out, it would involve a American skillz hi-jack of powers at the tech level. :)
