After the North American governments refused to fund testing, oceanographer Ken Buesseler, a senior scientist at the non-profit Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in Woods Hole, Mass, along with Nicholas Fisher, a marine sciences professor at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and other concerned scientists, managed to secure private funding for a Pacific research voyage. The results?
Cesium levels in the Pacific had initially gone up an astonishing 45 million times above pre-accident levels. The levels then declined rapidly for a while, but after that, they unexpectedly levelled off.
In July, cesium levels stopped declining and remained stuck at 10,000 times above pre-accident levels.
This means the ocean isn’t diluting the radiation as expected. If it had been, cesium levels would have kept falling.
The finding suggests that radiation is still being released into the ocean long after the accident in March, 2011.
It tastes like burning!
Those numbers are fake, they are actually higher then that. I seen enough utube videos and my friend took out his detector and was getting 5 rads in a non rainy day outside. Thats 80 rads a month maybe even more after the calculations. Thats more then what the human body can stand with a entire month to month bases without cleaning out the system. Those whom are far west are f***ed.
Even after my warnings to friends/family members, my niece had a craving for tuna a few days ago, opened a can and took two bites before throwing away the mostly full can because, as she said, "it burned my mouth and throat and tasted awful. I thought I was going to be sick and the burning didn't go away for hours." I told her don't eat any more fish at all. Unfortunately, there is no safe fish anymore, not even fresh water fish, but especially west coast and Pacific fish are totally suspect, and west coast fresh fruit/vegetable produce is not allowed in my house at all. If everyone boycotted west coast produce and fish, and Alaskan fish, fresh or canned, maybe the Government would (finally) get that we won't stand being lied to anymore? Yeah, I know, I know, wishful thinking.
