President Trump said Thursday that the Senate Intelligence Committee should investigate the media's false reporting, a day after it gave an update on its probe into Russia's effort to meddle in the 2016 election.

"Why Isn't the Senate Intel Committee looking into the Fake News Networks in OUR country to see why so much of our news is just made up-FAKE!" Trump tweeted Thursday morning.

On Wednesday, committee Chairman Richard Burr, R-N.C., said the group has yet to find evidence of collusion between Trump and the Russian government. Committee leaders said they have interviewed 100 witnesses and gone through 4,000 pages of transcripts in their probe.

At the same time, Burr warned that Russia does appear to have made attempts to influence the election, and said all U.S. campaigns should be wary of those attempts.

Trump also tweeted Thursday that he will "never forget" the people he met in Las Vegas during his trip to the city in mourning a day earlier.

"So wonderful to be in Las Vegas yesterday and meet with people, from police to doctors to the victims themselves, who I will never forget!" Trump tweeted Thursday morning.
