British pro-Palestine activists are to stage protests in a
number of locations across the UK to voice their anger at the
sale of products from the illegal Israeli settlements in the
county’s supermarkets.
According to a press release on the Palestine Solidarity
Campaign
expected to take part in the Sodastream National Day of
Action on September 28 to call on stores not to stock Israeli
settlement-made products.
The actions will take place in London, Brighton, Cardiff, West
Surrey,
Sheffield.
SodaStream company, which produces devices for home
carbonating drinks, is based in an illegal Israeli settlement in
the occupied Palestinian territories.
Earlier in May, British activists from the Boycott, Divestment
and Sanctions (BDS) campaign group gathered outside the
High Street Kensington branches of Whole Foods and John
Lewis
Sodastream products.
Moves to tighten a boycott grip on the Israeli regime gained
momentum in the UK since April 2012, when Britain’s fifth-largest food retailer, the Co-operative Group, extended a
boycott of goods from illegal settlements that have been
produced on occupied Palestinian territories in the West
Bank.
