Notice how this Malaysian minister of defence and, also the acting (he wears more than one hat) minister of transport, is blatantly evading many of the interviewer's questions, to the point where it causes this cowardly man, to say that he is not trying to evade the question.

Clearly; it would have made perfect sense to have scrambled a military jet, or two, to at least investigate, or have a 'look see' - who knows? - it just may have turned out to be that missing Boeing 777 (MH370) flight - the one to which all civilian electronic contact was strangely lost, rendering its location a huge mystery.

At least the world, not to mention the grieving families of 239 lost souls, would have know for sure, that MH370 was indeed sighted, and heading in a specific direction, as determined by the Malaysian air force.

As for the Malaysian minister's idiotic response to 'shooting it down' - "the Americans would have" - I include some headlines and links to past events where planes have been intercepted by U.S. Military jets, some of which were in serious and direct violation of restricted airspace, but were not shot down.

This Malaysian minister must either have been a banker, or lawyer, before getting into politics; like most politicians usually are...
