Facebook has a feature called “Trending Topics” which indicates what topics are most popular on Facebook at any given time. This Facebook feature purports to be controlled entirely by user data, but a recent article in Lifesite News indicates that Facebook is manipu... in order to protect Planned Parenthood in the wake of the Center for Medical Progress’s seventh damning undercover video:
If anything is trending, the new Planned Parenthood video surely is.
But then I looked closer at Facebook’s “trending” Planned Parenthood topic. And then I did a double take. This is – laughable as it might seem – what the descriptor said: “U.S. State inquiries into organization show no criminal evidence, report says.”
Wait….what?
. . .
So I clicked on the “trending” topic to see what it was all about.
There I found, featured at the top, two posts by Planned Parenthood’s official Facebook page. The first post, with a puny 2.6 thousand likes, linked to a Buzzfeed article that did include mention of how some states that had investigated Planned Parenthood’s fetal tissue donation program didn’t find anything amiss – because Planned Parenthood doesn’t have a fetal tissue donation program in those states. In other words, a non-story. The second post, with just over 3,000 likes, linked to a CapitalNewYork article about how Florida was going to let three clinics caught performing illegal 2nd trimester abortions to continue performing abortions.
So is Facebook allowing Planned Parenthood to curate its own trending topics? Perhaps. And Facebook wouldn’t be alone in protecting Planned Parenthood from bad publicity. Most of the major mainstream news outlets are remaining completely silent on the seventh video, which features a former Stem Express employee who claims she cut through the face of a baby to harvest an intact brain while the baby’s heart was still beating. You would think such a gruesomely tantalizing tidbit would be makin...:
As of Wednesday afternoon, major media outlets remained utterly silent about the latest video. There is no mention of it on the online front pages of the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, or the Chicago Tribune; it is not on the homepages of CNN or the news arms of ABC, NBC, or CBS. These are the same august outlets from which you can currently learn about “the smells of summer” in New York City, a viral deleted scene from the sitcom Friends, or security camera footage of a Utah police officer dancing to the Silento song “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” at a 7-Eleven.
Are we surprised by any of this? No. In the face of overwhelmingly damning evidence, Planned Parenthood and its leftist allies in the media are choosing to respond to their accusations with complete silence, pointing people instead to non-stories and propaganda.
Don’t let this deter you. Shout it from the rooftops. Make sure everyone you know sees these videos. Don’t allow Planned Parenthood to get out of the woods of infamy unscathed.
