Newsweek - Americans Don't Have the Right to Bear Just Any Arms

Newsweak (sic) hack Kurt Eichenwald is pushing the anti-Second Amendment agenda with his latest piece titled 'Americans Don't Have the Right to Bear Just Any Arms' - http://www.newsweek.com/2015/07/24/bullet-initiative-354203.html

Apparently he is yet another of these 'special people' who think that 2A was the exception to the rule in a list of INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS in that terribly confusing 'Bill Of Rights'

“A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”

Wow, its far too complex for me to comprehend - especially in light of those other terribly confusing amendments.

Eichewald cites 1938/39 case, United States v. Miller, in which the Supreme Court unconstitutionally reversed an AR federal district court decision to dismiss the case of Jack Miller and Frank Layton, who were accused of violating the 1934 National Firearms Act (NFA) when they transported a double barrel 12-gauge shotgun in interstate commerce.

Miller and Layton had argued (correctly) that the NFA violated their Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.

The whole foundation of the NFA was based on the arguement that a sawn-off shotgun was not a suitable military/miltia weapon - so the serfs couldn't posses them.

Oh, but if you pay the Fed NFA Tax, then the Govt permits you to own one.

Hold on, the Military and the Police both use short barreled shotguns (not to mention silencers and automatic weapons which are also subject to NFA regulation and taxation for private owners) - so from this simple observation its obvious the whole claimed raison d'être and justification of the NFA is proven to be void.

Eichewald thinks silencers have no practical application outside of miltary use - WTF?

I guess all those hunters and sportsman outside the US...who aren't deaf...might beg to differ.

But of course, only the special praetorian guard and those in power should have such 'rights' to posess these weapons and accessories.

He then goes on to place the usual collective blame and guilt on the American people for the actions of the insane, before breaking into the by-the-book allusions that gunowners are all extremists, criminals, wannabe rambos and mentally ill.

Amazing, isn't it - but when the PTB exercise an action - say illegal wars - that results in the deaths of thousands - that's perfectly acceptable to the MSM.

I wonder how Eichenwald would respond to being told that Americans don't have a right to just ANY free speech - come to think of it, forget it, he'd probably agree.

The man is a lost cause and actually believes in the fantasy of 'government’s ability to keep citizens safe'.
