This is hard to grasp. The thousands of freaks that showed up are just blood-lusting voyeurs, imho. Might as well be the Roman coliseum. And they probably don't know the origins of Easter either.

Hebrews 6:6 and they have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame...

I am offended by this ..  however they have been doing this in the Philippines for quite a while.  I am not sure but i think it may be illegal in America ..  lets not give the NWO any ideas..   They might like the whole crucifixtion thing!  I know they like be-heading people and have guillatines stored in Georgia for future use..  @ Nikki that origin of Easter has nothing to do with the resurrection of Jesus.. Constantinople mixed pagan & christian tradition many years ago perverting the organic meaning and now we have worship of spring mixing in with it too, the most important part of christianity . "the empty tomb"  must be distorted ..   the road to salvation MUST  be illiminated by the illuminated from the beginning of time this one thing and only this one thing is the most dangerous thing to the fallen angels and the ruler of this world.. the bible tells us who the ruler of this world is.. He must distort this one thing and has all of time to destroy it and is running out of time and he knows it and will reek havock while he still can. His days are numbered and it all has to play out before the end of all this misery ends .. [perspective of this believer only]
