The NYPD Declares Martial Law in Brooklyn

On the heels of three nights of protests over the police slaying of 16 year old Kimani Gray, the NYPD has turned the East Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn into a State of Exception, claiming emergency powers to suspend the constitutional guarantees of the citizenry.

The people regularly targeted by police harassment and violence, overwhelmingly the city’s poor and minority populations, have taken to the streets to speak out against the NYPD’s draconian tactics. The police have in turn responded with even further harsh measures by suppressing the right of the people to voice dissatisfaction with that very same police force.

Cops kettled protesters at Wednesday night’s candlelight vigil, resulting in 46 arrests. Police even arrested Kimani Gray’s distraught sister, Mahnefeh.

The NYPD euphemistically calls the public spaces in which the Constitutional rights of the people are suspended “frozen zones.”

Allison Kilkenny wrote about the NYPD’s so-called “frozen zones” in December 2011:

“The ‘frozen zone’ is an arbitrary, official police business-sounding title that has absolutely zero legal merit. It’s something the NYPD made up, just as the ‘First Amendment zone’ is something [Los Angeles Mayor Antonio] Villaraigosa made up to suppress media coverage of the Occupy raids.”

According to FIERCE, the “frozen zone” in East Flatbush is being used to prevent media from covering the protests and arrests. Meanwhile, people inside the “frozen zone” can be subjected to arrest merely by exercising their constitutional rights.

time to burn the city down--that will bring them to their knees real quick--

their is nothing more life changing than the power of the match  !

I hope every police officer/overseer dies in Brooklyn. Karma's a menstruating bitch!!!

The question is, is this going to serve as the excuse Cuomo needs to start door-to-door gun confiscations?

The NYPD has declared a portion of Flatbush a “Frozen Zone”
    Friday, March 15, 2013 6:28 AM

The NYPD has declared a portion of Flatbush a “Frozen Zone”, meaning media are not allowed in and people can be subjected to arrest for not following police orders. It basically means the area is under temporary martial law. The last times the NYPD declared a Frozen Zone was on the 10th anniversary of 9/11 and during the beginning of OWS.

I feel for everyone in NYC, it is a Berlin type city (circa 1971 East Germany), except Berlin may have had more rights. Either 2 things will work:

Get more people in that city to protest city wide, and totally shut the place down just like East Germany's resident finally did (no garbage, no resteraunts, no service, no gas stations) , until Bloomberg and his goon force walk off the job

    Or...move out.

Only speaking to them in terms of economy will get your freedom back. These people can't live on fake interest made up in a computer forever.

    Peace.

Right on Steve!  NY has been commie since day one.  Bloomberg thinks he is a dictator, and he is!  Nothing but evil.

I have family in that neighborhood and they have said nothing about this. My wife left there early this morning and I have been MSM'ing with her frequently. Again, no mention. Wassup?

Yo! Listen tight. NYPD is covering, with attitude and gallons of mace and billions of rounds of hollow points just to stir you up, for the cabal that is in on the destruction of the U.S.'s constitutional government. The WTCs were built to destroy later, and facilitate the most massive heist of gold and Government Securities, ever. I documented the demolition system installed in 1969 so my father could bail out without getting sued. Nanothermate was patented in 1998 and installed just before 9-11-2001 to cut the cores and initiate this original demolition system. The NYPD is playing 'psychocop' to strategically cover for this cabal. Economic hardship is being perpetrated to create desperation and conflict, and create the perception of need for this Port Authority to cede from U.S. constitutional authority and work for the City of London financial interest, at gunpoint. Chicago Port Authority is next. The Willis tower in Chicago was constructed as 'The Sears & Roebuck Tower' and likewise was provided a built-in demolition system like the WTCs I, II, and 7 in NYC. Including basement nukes ( which may have been removed). Yup. Loaded top to bottom. I know. I, and others, independently documented this crazy fact back in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Don't trust these pigs. 'Trust' is the best basis for exploitation and skulduggery. 'Honesty' is the basis for a good relationship. Homework time. Most people were running around willy-nilly back in the 1960s and 1970s too. The CFRtv was there to rot their brains. 'Love Boat' and fixed pro ball games. Less than interesting ways to waste time.

What type of bitch insults random people on the internet? Bitch-types? You must be a member of the conservative gang, believing you're banging against a member of the liberal gang. I don't gangbang, I'm neutral. I'm conservative on some issues and liberal on other issues, as every normal person is the same. You conservatives follow ideologies handed to you from your leader(s) and the same goes for the liberals. Whoever doesn't follow your ideology is an expendable enemy. That's the same shit gangbangers be on, your leaders even gave you colors(Red & Blue, like the Crips & Bloods) to represent. The next time you see a gangbanging video, remember that you're on the same dumb ass shit and you're no better than them, you're actually dumber than them because they know they're wrong and you're to stupid to realize you're wrong.

You claimed that I'm pro-criminal, like I really give a fuck.  My and my people have a different mindset than your people. We put right & wrong over the law, your people put the law over right & wrong. For example, If I catch a grown man raping my daughter, I'm killing him on the spot. According to the law, I'm a coldblooded murderer, but in reality I did what was right. If I live in a bad neighborhood that's full of murderers & robbers, I'm gonna carry a gun to insure my safety. According to the law, I'm a criminal for carrying a concealed firearm. In reality, I did what was right to survive my living situation. I don't expect you to understand the aforementioned because logic is necessary to understand my point of view. To sum it up, I don't give a fuck about your punk ass opinions, my opinion is the only opinion that matters to me.

How eloquantly put Marquez Harris! - I agree with you on so many issues and sure there are many others. It's learning to reckonise what you already have, which is the divide and rule tribal rule plays the day, and it's breaking free from that red pill, blue pill mentality that will only allow us to be able to embrace the real meaning of freedom, fairness and justice!  - Just keep the fucks down to a min!! Lol!!

"For example, If I catch a grown man raping my daughter, I'm killing him on the spot. According to the law, I'm a coldblooded murderer, but in reality I did what was right."

Where I live, the family of the rapist would likely be charged for the bullet. Alright, I'm exaggerating ... but just a little.

It's okay to own and wear a pistol down here, so there's nothing to keep you from using it when circumstances warrant and self-defense and defense of family are both just such circumstances. If you pass the background check, you can conceal it. If not, you can strap it to your leg.

My wife was raised in Brooklyn and was, like many other people, afraid to leave the city because she didn't know if she could make as much money somewhere else. I reasoned with her, pointing out that anywhere there were people, there was a way to make an honest living.

That's still true. So get out of NYC ... Chicago or wherever you are that won't allow you your 2A right to carry and the common sense option to concealed carry.

Come to North Carolina ... a lot has changed since 1963 -- if you know what I mean. Here, you can CC as long as you aren't a felon (that's a federal regulation) or adjudicated crazy.

Are you willing to walk away from the big money for a chance to walk down the street with your gun tucked into your waistband and your daughter at your side ... with no need to look over your shoulder except to see if it's safe to cross the street?

I left Detroit 2 years ago. I sold my $60,000 house for $3,500 and the chance to walk down that same street with my wife. C'mon ... wages are low, but so is the rent ... and you can't put a dollar value on freedom.

Picked my wife up at the train station a little after 1 am today (Saturday). She hadn't heard anything at all about the events in Flatbush. Nothing ... and she had watched the news just before leaving Brooklyn early Friday morning.

    So ... any updates?
