Traces of Their Souls

If they manage to hollow out this great land

And fill it with illegals and contraband 

If they manage to assassinate the man who has the ultimate plan 

If God decides to transform this continent into desert sand,

Then it would appear sanity was outgunned and outmanned

Because the population allowed the truth to be banned

Is this why whales beach themselves upon the shores of the mainland?

Waiting for their consciousness to expand,

I remember you, the mist that hovered over the morning dew

With your gaze you penetrated me through and through 

With forbidden knowledge not meant for me or you 

It seems my impressions are now all askew,

The land of the dead

Must be inside their heads

The masses have been so easily misled

Too lobotomized to try critical thinking instead,

Still I remember you in shades of starlight blue

Rising above this troubled world with a 30,000 foot view

Speaking in multi-cultural voices right on cue

But you only connected with a very few,

And so the fools continued with their schemes

Destroying the best of humanity’s dreams

Mesmerizing the weak minded with live streams

I still recall the mushroom clouds and all their screams,

There’s no longer any knocks on my door

Nor the fresh faces of little ones galore

Nor the pitter patter of little feet upon the floor

Only traces of their souls now float in spiritual reservoirs.
