Just to show you how we have been misinformed MacDonald’s was being pressured for years by health advocate groups to use an alternative to coconut oil that they fried their French fries in. MacDonald’s liked cooking with coconut oil because it had longer shelf life. Why? Because it’s loaded with anti-oxidants! What are they using now to fry their potatoes? God only knows. Probably soybean oil which is just another seed oil with injurious complications!
One of the biggest hoaxes in the history of the American Medical establishment in its recommendations on fitness and a healthy diet was the infamous pyramid of food selection in order to achieve health and wellbeing! Some nutritionists were alarmed and calling out the government for allowing this kind of misinformation about food health to be released! At the very top of the pyramid was the kind of foods we should eat a minimum of! This was saturated fat and all foods including meats that contain it! As well as being high in sugar content! Even soy milk was considered as a minimum use beverage. This would mean limiting food like shell fish, greasy meats like bacon, corned beef, roasts, ground hamburger, pork cuts, and cooking fats such as lard.
The following level would be fruits such as grapes, bananas, strawberries, oranges, etc.
Next would be vegetables like broccoli, eggplant, corn, carrots, kale, and onion.
The next level of the pyramid was low fat meats such as chicken, fish such as salmon, turkey, and vegetable protein alternatives, which at the time they fabricated this lie, were poorly researched.
Next, to the largest category was whole grains like whole wheat, multi-grains, pasta, and rice!
There are several problems with all these selections and whether or not they are recommended for diabetics or heart patients! Many of the suggested fruits cause insulin spikes while the carbohydrate content in grains may also be an issue in the glycemic index. Soy Milk is processed with hexane a chemical extracted from gasoline used to remove soy isolate protein from soybeans to make products like tofu, soy milk, and other soy based protein alternatives!
Recent studies show that certain vegetables, grains, legumes, and nuts cause inflammation in the human body that can lead to arthritis or other immunological ailments over a period of time! Most grains, legumes, and many seeds such as almonds, contain high levels of lectin, a natural occurring pesticide plants make to stave off insects! Lectins can cause all kinds of gut disorders in people. So, once again we go back to the old adage, “Follow the money.” Who stands to gain?
