How was your trip to planet earth?

Don’t let it affect your sense of self worth

You might end up regretting your birth

You may not find many moments of laughter or mirth,

Beware the animals here bite

Although they look like you and stand upright

They may end up being the reason for your plight

The reason you might not be able to sleep at night,

During those times of despair

It will be difficult to find someone who cares

They’ll be noncommittal as they stare

Even your own family may not be there,

Did you come to planet earth on a dare?

Was all just for some frivolous affair?

It might end up being your waking nightmare

Just trying to warn you to beware,

That membrane between realities

That you sifted through with such ease

Remember to utter the word, “Please,”

Especially when they have you on your knees,

For all those gray days

You might find yourself in a maze

That’s why so many walk around in a daze

Insanity is the latest craze,

And if you’re lucky enough to find love

That magical thing dreams are made of

But when it comes down to push and shove

You’ll have to find a way to rise above.
