Wading Into the End

This is the existential bend

When it appears, you’ve come to the end

No family no friends

No way to make amends,

The corridor was bleak

The silent spirts could not speak

The battlefields wreaked

My little go getter had a mean streak,

Isolated on an island of thought

Where all logic turns to rot

Wounded, losing blood, and laying on a cot

An unwitting character in a plot,

The end like a perfect storm

Like a demonic locust swarm

No slender body to keep me warm

Insanity has become the new norm,

Come on baby take a chance tonight

The ravens have taken flight

The nocturnal terror seems just right

Long ago I gave up the fight,

Moonlight shines on the river of madness

I’m wading in waters of sadness

Blindly grasping in hopelessness

Waiting for you to take off that dress!
