Successfully Delivered Materiel Vehicles and Heavy Equipment

Several thousand vehicles landed successfully by the end of June 6, including tanks, trucks, artillery, and specialized vehicles (e.g., DUKWs, LSTs/LCTs unloading directly).

  • Utah Beach: ~1,700–1,742 vehicles.

  • Juno Beach: ~3,200 vehicles (noted in some tallies).
  • British/Canadian sectors (Gold, Juno, Sword) generally fared better with direct beach landings of armor.

Supplies and Tonnage (ammunition, fuel, rations, equipment) were delivered, but significantly below plan. Early days saw shortfalls (e.g., only ~6,600 tons in the first three days vs. planned ~25,000).

Remember, these figures only cover a single day in the fighting with losses only estimated. The following days would cost the allies dearly in men and materiel. Thank God for these brave fighting men!
