Nerf toy gun causes lockdown in Long Island

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

A lime-green Nerf toy gun caused an hours-long lock-down at a Long Island school on Tuesday.

A 911 caller told Nassau County Police she saw a suspicious teen at about 7:38 a.m. Tuesday wearing a black jacket and carrying a black backpack at Elmont Memorial high School in Elmont.

The caller said he was also carrying a lime green gun.

A SWAT team searched the school room by room.  Parents were allowed to pick up their children early Tuesday afternoon.

They eventually found the toy lime green and yellow lever action Nerf gun in a student locker.  Police did not make any arrests and the lockdown was lifted.

An Oregon sheriff says he will not enforce any federal regulation that President Barack Obama lays out in his package of gun control proposals Wednesday.
Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller joins several other public officials across the nation who have decided to square off with the White House even before it outlines what its plans are for expanded measures.
Mueller sent a letter to Vice President Joe Biden this week saying he won't enforce any federal regulation "offending the constitutional rights of my citizens." He won't permit federal officers to come to his county to enforce such laws either, he said.
Mueller's defiant stand exploded into a groundswell of support. His letter -- posted on the department's Facebook page -- earned more than 59,000 likes and shares -- and was growing by the minute.

I may not like everything the NRA does but that don't mean I don't support them 100%. What other pro-gun group can stand up to the anti-gun people like the NRA does? None of them.

My suggestion for Guns for home protection are

(1) 12 GA shotgun

(2) 22 sem-automatic rifle

(3) SKS or AK-47 Semi-Automatic rifle.

(4) Two Russian surplus world war II rifles with lots of ammo.

(4) 357 Mag Handgun

(5) 9 MM semi-automatic handgun

(6) learn how to shoot all these guns, repair and clean them.

(7) check out all the Gun video's on You tube.

Unless you have a lot of money stay away from guns like the AR-15. They cost a lot and sometimes are hard to repair.

House committee advances gun regulation bill

A bill in the Alaska House that would criminalize federal gun regulation is on track to be scheduled for a vote.

HB69, by House Speaker Mike Chenault, was moved from the House Judiciary Committee on Monday.

The bill would make it a felony offense for federal officers to attempt to enforce any new federal laws that attempt to limit gun ownership in Alaska.

I read that a lot of Sheriffs clam that they are going to protect the Citizens right to bear arms if the federal government comes after our guns. The question is "When the Rubber Hits the Road" how many will back down? My guess most won't go up against the federal government. As the office of Sheriff is an elected office, most are telling the voters what they want to hear to get re-elected.
