I'm not so anonymous but I'll join the flock.

Thanks for joining! I made the group with members needing approval first. W e have a few folks on site that may come here otherwise to disrupt the group or to voice their fears on anons . I believe there are ample places on the site where this can be done other than here :)  I personally do not quite understand the movement, yet tend to want to be part of it. I appreciate, as well as support anyone tasked with taking truth to power...James

Thank you James. I am rearranging the GI site and will feed an RSS. In more detail, I am ending the separation between anonymiss and anonymous on the GI site (grin). The GI sites have been under constant attack today, so progress is slow, giggle.

What anonymous is? We all are anonymous, if only in the eyes of powers-that-are for whom we are nothing more than numbers, or at best, sheeple to be manipulated by fear mongering, language spin and material benefits from arrogated and appropriated resources by the powers-that-are.The air we breathe is still free tho!

Anonymous has been and is attractive to people for various reasons, and it has been changing a lot over the last year, as new people added their truth and actions. But at the core it is hacktivism and therefor major lulz with a long history of pranking and excellent humour for making a point.

Most activism in the past was doing "anti-something" and it just got gobbled up and integrated by the system. Lulz is different. It makes fun of both for and anti in sometimes subtle form, sometimes in less subtle form like putting up fake websites (parodies), DDoS (virtual sit-ins on the web), DNS redirections, site defacements (butthurts, bitchslaps) etc.

Of course there is also some more serious stuff going on such as spying by corporations and governments, and censorship and serious infringements of human rights, that are often done secretly and/or covered up after the fact by the powers-that-are. Protecting private data and revealing public data has been and still is a meme in hacker culture for a long time now ...

I will upload the infographics depicting a little of anonymous history, and some links to articles by Biella Coleman, an anthropologist that has been studying hacker culture and anonymous for many years, and some articles from others as well.

Maybe that's a start?

I am now running the pipe bot through feedburner, that seems to have fixed the problem. Now I'll add hashtag #ows, and we'll have covered the hashtags promised in the title of this group.

Occam's Razor: I am excluding tweets that don't contain links (people just shouting something), tweets that have @ in them (people talking to each other over twitter) and tweets with RT in 'em (retweets).

It will take some time before those changes are reflected in the results here. Around half an hour.

Added some pages on possibly interesting and/or necessary tools in this context. Tor, onioncat and obfuscation bridges with Tor still to follow.

All links on the pages run through the anonym.to service (if you don't want to use it, copy paste the link and remove that first bit). All links are rel="nofollow" so crawlers are instructed to disregard links from here to there. But, certain crawlers are disrespectful and ignore such instructions, so no doubt the pages will get noticed.

And once protection and defense has been set up, and communications are working, we can think about adding pages with reconnaissance and pentesting tools for offensive defense of (of course) fake targets, if people are interested in that.

'Web Page Censored' Code Proposed

A high-profile Google developer has proposed that the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) that it endorse a new HTTP Status Code to warn readers the page they're looking for has been censored by authorities, according to TheVerge.

Tim Bray, who co-invented XML and works as Android Developer Advocate at Google, is submitting a proposal that pages censored by someone other than the owner of the site or of the user's local network display the error code "451 Unavailable for Legal Reasons."

The number in the code is a reference to Ray Bradbury's "Farenheit 451," which describes a dystopian future in which book burnings and the censorship of unacceptable material is routine. Google already highlights search terms that may return censored results, in some countries.

And in a recent paper for Darpa, the Pentagon’s premiere research arm, researchers say they’ve built “a prototype for automatically generating and distributing believable misinformation … and then tracking access and attempted misuse of it. We call this ‘disinformation technology.’” ~ Wired Danger Room

The above mentioned “recent paper” was produced by Allure Security and sponsored by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).  It describes a system for preventing leaks by seeding believable disinformation in military information systems to help identify individuals attempting to access and disseminate classified information.
